Trump 2025
Re: Trump 2025
Now he has pissed off the Germans
"BREAKING: German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier enrages MAGA world by declaring that the United States under Trump is destroying the world order and turning it into a "den of robbers."
The rest of the globe is done pulling punches...
"Then there is the breakdown of values by our most important partner, the United States, which helped build this world order," Steinmeier said a symposium, clearly referring to the illegal kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Trump's threats to seize Greenland.
"In my opinion, we have now moved beyond the stage where we can lament the lack of respect for international law or the erosion of the international order. We are far beyond that, I believe," he continued. "Both disrespect and erosion are well advanced. I believe that, and I want to emphasize it a little."
"It is about preventing the world from turning into a den of robbers, where the most unscrupulous take whatever they want, where regions or entire countries are treated as the property of a few great powers," he continued. "Where even medium-sized states, such as ours, are being pushed to the margins of history, and where smaller and weaker states are left completely unprotected."
Trump has admitted that his invasion of Venezuela was carried out so that American corporations can take over that nation's vast oil reserves. It's naked imperialism and rank gangsterism, and the rest of the world is understandably horrified. Our closest allies are racing to keep us at arm's length — a deeply destabilizing development at a time when we should be banding together against our ascendant adversaries.
Steinmeier's concerns are well-founded and as it turns out they mirror those of his countrymen. A poll for the public broadcaster ARD just discovered that 76% of Germans now believe that they cannot rely on the United States as a stable partner. Only 15% believe that they can trust the U.S.A.
For all of his strongman posturing, Trump is making us weaker by the day. His fascist supporters may get a sick thrill out of watching him bully foreign countries, but the bill for all of this evil will come due. If we continue down this path we will soon find ourselves isolated, despised, and unable to call upon help when we need it most."

3.6%
In 2023, defense spending in the United States accounted for 3.6% of the GDP. This figure reflects the significant role of defense in the U.S. economy, with defense spending being a major component of the federal budget.

That's exactly what a Dictator does, maybe Greenland next and then Canada. Here's hoping if he tries to use the military they will remember their oath to uphold the Constitution, not a Dictator.Kenr6583 wrote: January 12, 2026, 6:22 pm The POTUS has anointed himself as the acting president of Venezuela. Re: Trump 2025
How else did he and will he get Venezuela, Canada, Nigeria, Cuba, Greenland .... without using the Military?
Re: Trump 2025
Capitalism? The POTUS has threatened credit card companies, stating that they would be breaking the law if they didn't reduce interest rates to 10% for one year. Let's see how that plays out in the courts, that's if the credit card companies don't bend a knee to him. So much for fewer regulations and government oversight.

Australia steps forward BRAVO
"He called Trump a "village idiot," according to multiple reports. In another, he called him "the most destructive president in history" and a "traitor to the West."
Kevin Rudd AWESOME

Re: Trump 2025
There are 150 Military personnel on Greenland now. So, why is there 100 times that amount in attendance if Russia and China are such a Threat?
There is an agreement that all the USA has to do is request the addition of personnel.
Or is it that the additional personnel cannot dig for minerals while on the island?

Make Minnesota Canada's 11th province.
Re: Trump 2025
Better be quick before they make Venezuela the 51st state of the Union.
In other news, spurned Venezuelan election winner Maria Machado has given her Nobel Peace Prize medal to Trump at the White House.
Watch how her desperate straw clutch makes a no nevermind impression on Trump and his earlier public expression of how she's "not respected" in her own country.

"750 military bases
The United States has more than 750 military bases located in over 80 countries around the world as of 2025. These bases vary in size and function, from large air bases to smaller installations."

Forgot to add
China has ONE foreign base while Russia has 9 to 15 bases.
So the question comes up "Who is trying to control the world?"
I remember a discussion I had with a person (ExRAF WW2) asking "Why was Britain not the world power anymore?" Answer was "It just got too much to handle"

Re: Trump 2025
The United States is projected to lose $12.5 billion in international visitor spending in 2025, making it the only country among 184 economies to experience a decline in tourism revenue. This significant shortfall represents a 22.5% decline compared to the previous peak. The decline is attributed to anti-immigration policies and shorter trips by Latin American travelers, which have contributed to a 7% fall in foreign tourist spending in the U.S. Despite the drop, domestic tourism spending has helped offset the decline, and the U.S. remains the world's largest travel and tourism economy. The WTTC expects global tourism to grow by 4.5% in 2026, outpacing overall economic growth.

Re: Trump 2025
Trumps latest tantrums over Greenland and threatening any European country with increased tariffs if they do not back his claim, is sheer bullying. NATO? Pretty much dead while Trump is around. If our own countries fail to push back, time for a boycott of all things from the USA. Trade works both ways.
For now, I will not buy anything made in the USA, or from any large American owned company here in Thailand (time to scrutinise all those labels). Canadians are already boycotting many products.

Re: Trump 2025
Trouble with Trump is that he combines extremely sensible statements on Starmer and Lammy's monumental acts of stupidity on the Chagos islands while acting like the school bully on things such as additional tariffs if a nation does not back his illegal actions on Venezuela, demands that Greenland become an American state and his ongoing nonsense with Canada.
Is there a way in American rules that they can remove a sitting POTUS from office if he is found to be mentally deficient.

Here ya go Alex
Google provided the following
"Three constitutional routes can end a presidency before January 20, 2029: voluntary exit (resignation or death), involuntary removal through impeachment and Senate conviction, and temporary or permanent transfer of power under the Twenty-Fifth Amendment for incapacity — with a contested, rarely used option arising from the Fourteenth Amendment’s disqualification clause."

Thanks Doodoo.
No chance of options 1 and 2 being enacted. Unlikely anyone will be brave enough to call for option 3 or 4. Perhaps someone should get some practice in with a .308 hunting rifle.
There is no chance that the world will survive another 3 years of this loony.
