BigC offers

Post by rick »

BigC (Nittayo road) seems to be having quite a few offers recently, either ex-Xmas stock or because lines are being dropped. Yesterday got McVities Chocolate digestive biscuits 99 baht, Buy one get one free, and Ligo cheese potato chips, 110g, 23 baht. Also saw offers on Mackerel in tomato sauce from 10 baht a tin. Also got some Very Berry Breakfast cereal (Diamond grains?) on BOGOF, but they were crap, 90% oatflakes, precious little fruit.

I noticed this a few weeks back. It looks like they may be reducing stock levels for a refurb.
Heinz Baked Beans ฿34
Mission Wraps ฿51
& our household favourite chocolate Hobnobs twin pack ฿169
The reductions keep changing so it’s worthwhile looking at the little islands on the end of aisles

Luckily enough, Big C is the nearest and easiest supermarket for me to visit so you're right, the yellow-tagged discounts and BOGOF offers are fast and furious. McVitie's Plain Chocolate Digestives are still 99 baht - buy 1 get 1 free. And big bags of Tyrrell's chips in various flavours for 105 baht.

I notice the bargain stands are fewer and further between and there are more gaps on the 'international' shelves so maybe suppliers and importers are sitting on their hands until after the election? Or maybe there's been a change on import tax and stuff hasn't trickled down yet? I recall Villa Market going through a significant 'empty freezer' period last year, since resolved.

I once entered what I’d eaten for supper onto my phone health app & it called an ambulance to the house.
