Has anyone had any dealings and any success in dealing with Roblox. My son’s and my experience has been painful.
My son was a keen user and invested quite a bit of money. He’s really pissed off (my words, not his) that his account has been cancelled by Roblox. The first notification he received referred to the reason being numerous credit requests(not true) and I think ‘chargeback’. Roblox gave a limited time period for an appeal.
This is where the real frustration started. My son tried contacting Roblox numerous times, but it seemed impossible to speak to a human and all he received were automated responses quoting rules etc. AI at work?
The only explanation I could think of for the account cancellation? – my son used my credit card to ‘buy’ Roblox items. From my issuing bank, I had received a ‘phone message that there was a security risk, my credit card was blocked and I needed a new card. No further information was given, but the risk had nothing to do with Roblox. Slightly inconvenient, particularly as the bank spelt my name wrong on the first new card sent!, but I did finally receive a new credit card.
It's at this point that a possible reason for the Roblox ban originated. My son wanted something new on Roblox, so we processed using my new card. It ‘went through’ ok with a charge to my card, but whilst I’m not entirely sure of the timescale, think this was when the Roblox ban was notified and I received a refund to my credit card.
So, I’m suggesting that Roblox blocked my son’s account simply because the number of the new credit card did not agree with what they had on their records. But trying to suggest this possibility to Roblox, to have someone actually listen (or explain another reason why the account was blocked) has proved impossible. My son advises me that there are many problems with Roblox, court cases and the like. My son has a point that he’s made this ‘investment’ in Roblox and in developing his account (and he’s enjoyed doing so), but it’s been taken away from him, even without the courtesy of a satisfactory explanation. Possibly a minor administrative matter? Compensation?
As I say, anyone with any knowledge, experience of Roblox, not least a means of ‘getting through’ to them?
