Morning coffee over on the east side and I was surprised to hear a low-flying heavy jet, so after visually identifying it as an A330, a quick check on FlightRadar24 showed it's from the Singapore Air Force. It looks like pilot training possibly, doing bump and runs and avoiding the commercial flight patterns? I guess Singapore's air space is too constrained with too much commercial traffic around Changi, so they're up here. I think their fighter jet pilots now do their training at another airstrip somewhere in Bahn Nawk?

Re: Twister
The Singapore air force has been training from Udon for many years, they use the Pannari Hotel for accommodation. Their fighters use airspace over us here North of Ban Dung as do the Thais, it's quite entertaining at times. We rarely if ever see commercial aviation over here.

Re: Twister
Nam Phong has undergone numerous upgrades in the last few years. new ramps, hangars, barracks, fuel tanks, and many paved roads around the perimeter of the base and exiting both north and south. Unfortunately google maps isn't up to date so we can only see what's been done up to a couple of years ago..
