New traffic lights & pedestrian crossings

Post by tamada »

I have noticed these springing up all over town recently. Bold red and white, light-controlled crossings and several formerly difficult T-junctions and crossroads are now light controlled.

Mind you, there are too many idiots on fast scooters and slow salengs with no lights whatsoever, plus car drivers that haven't turned their lights on after leaving the pub, that still make the early evening cross-town commute... exciting.

Maybe it will get better in 2026.

I noticed that they had put up traffic lights outside at the main entransce to the General Hospital. I remember that they did that some 10-15 years ago but since they were totally ignored by cars and MC they were removed.
I hope they have better luck this time.

It will be extremely dangerous for both pedestrians and vehicle operators especially considering the large number of red light runners and motorcycle operators who pay little attention to road safety.
