I have a UK friend coming out in December to live here for 10 months prior to moving permanently early '27. His question is, if he brings his UK car driving license and an international license / permit can he then use these and apply for a Thai motorbike license without the hours of training and tests. He says this is what he was told on his last visit but wants to make sure as it was bar chatter. He doesn't want a Thai car license just motorbike as his house is in the city and his wife drives their car. Hope that makes sense. He will be on a Non O visa
Has anyone done this or heard of anyone doing this recently.. TY
Thai Motorbike License
Re: Thai Motorbike License
Transferring, not sure, some offices will others wont. With no transfer its still only a one day job. Watch a movie maybe, computer test (they have online practice tests), eye test, reaction test, road test. The road test is driving around a few cones, a child could do it.
To me the headache was getting the letter of residence prior to testing.

Re: Thai Motorbike License
I took a drive to the Transport office on the KK road. Nice lady there said 'if you have a foreign driving licence with international permit yes you can have a license if you pass the tests' she was pointing to the indoor color, reaction time etc equipment.
Guess we'll see if that's still the same in December
