You ain't seen nothing yet. The conman's plan for the dollar is off to a slow start with the FED standing in the way thus far. We are going sub 30 under the abominable entertainer's regime.Potamoi wrote: July 5, 2025, 11:11 pmMuch ado about nothing.anefarious1 wrote: July 5, 2025, 7:33 pm In Thai baht, your SS benefits have been cut every month since the orange turd took over. And he's just getting started! Wait until Powell is out and US rates get cut to satisfy the conman.
When I started working in Thailand in Oct 1992 the baht was 25.253. In Jan 1998 it went to 52.983. The average has been 33.988 and the Median is 33.261.
There have been 5 other US presidents who saw larger swings in the USD to THB rates (both directions). The -2.44% change in ForEx is quite common in 4 months of the data that I keep track of. For example: Obama had a -5% change under his admin between Jun-Sep 2010 and Biden had -12.47% change Oct22-Jan23.
Seems to me this particular little winge is just that.

What has the exchange rate got to do with my SS being cut? If I still lived in the US, I would be a little ahead because of inflation being controlled. You haters are grabbing at straws just to justify your hate.

TACO Trump does it again - the guy is a total joke.
Donald Trump says trade deals close, with tariffs due to take effect August 1
White House officials have said higher US tariffs will be delayed from an initial July 9 implementation date to August 1.
US President Donald Trump in April announced a 10 per cent base tariff rate on most countries and additional duties ranging up to 50 per cent.

At least the current POTUS has his priorities straight. While Texas is suffering from flash floods, a death total closing in on 100, the meteorologist center out of Houston that has only 14 out of 25 positions filled due to you know what, a shortage of FEMA responders, and a person in charge of FEMA who doesn't know what/when hurricane season is, he's out golfing again over the weekend.
During his first term it cost the taxpayers over $150 million for his golf outing. He's on pace to exceed that in the first year of his return to the White House.
Where is DOGE when you need them.

You should be happy that Trump is playing golf. That takes his time away from downsizing your beloved bloated government.Kenr6583 wrote: July 7, 2025, 6:35 pm At least the current POTUS has his priorities straight. Many years ago I lived in a decent condo on the edge of the Everglades. I paid $28,000 dollars for it and the monthly maintenance fee was $175 dollars a month. My friend has a condo on Fort Lauderdale beach. It is a large very nice unit. Two years ago he had an assessment of $15,000. Now he has another assessment of $13,000 dollars per unit. Those are because of new condo laws. It is a million dollar condo but because of the monthly maintenance fees, he would have a difficult time ever selling it. Monthly maintenance fees are nearly $2,000 dollars. He also mentioned that a beer in most local bars now costs about $9. Fortunately he is quite well off and can pay the inflated prices. I sold my Jomtien condo last year. My maintenance fees including trash pickup and insurance were about $20 a month. My Thai wife and I live well on just my Social Security. No way could I afford to live in Florida now. The US has serious financial problems.

[Redacted by Mod] And yes, I am an old man happily living upcountry in Loei province. I happen to believe that the US government is bloated and needs to be reduced and controlled. People who cannot see the waste apparently approve of the waste. I do resent all the stupid giveaway programs. Corruption is widespread and more is being exposed everyday. Just today Planned Parenthood has been exposed.

Looks like one of his golfing buddies may be up for the Singapore ambassadorship.

Re: Trump 2025
political appointees to US Ambassador positions can indeed be a train wreck depending upon who is appointed.. In this fellow's case he is a medical professional, older, and not likely to do stupid things.. I've seen others who snagged Ambassador positions who were horrible and got the job to add "Ambassador" to their official titles.

He had 3 months to catch up on ALL relations between the US and Singapore as well as regional factors = did nothing! Let Ms Duckworth tear him to pieces. Maybe a posting to Afganastan might be more appropriate.

Remember that Trump was Epstein's longtime wingman!
And as the ghost of Jeffery Epstein haunts the sex-offender-in-chief, now is when the Trumpstein files should finally be released!

How does the tariff game work on these?
I recall reading that out of the 90 or so being trumpeted, there's only been 3 trade deals signed with the US since this started. Is that right, or was a being lied to by the lefty msm?

It's always been just an additional sales tax. The really stupid thought it was about MAGA, Nope, just to raise additional funds from the lower classes so his Billionaire mates dont have to lose a cent. The Trump is enjoying the pretense of power broking when it's really just pandering to his ego.tamada wrote: July 11, 2025, 1:46 pm See below. Isn’t it funny how the White House doesn’t see the irony in comparing Trump not to just an illegal immigrant from another country, but from another planet? Talk about ignorance on display.tamada wrote: July 13, 2025, 9:36 am Is it a bird? Is it a plane?...

BREAKING NEWS! Trump wins another golf tournament at one of his golf courses, his fourth this year!
In less important news, The Grand Canyon, Federal land, is burning with FEMA nowhere in site. The same storm that produced lightening strikes that caused the wildfires in Arizona also struck in Colorado and is causing massive damage.
But never mind about those inconsequential tragedies going on in the United States right now, congratulations to the POTUS, and thank you for sharing this incredible achievement on social media and sharing it with the entire world. Hopefully one day you will be able to accomplish this feat on a golf course you do not own.

Trump Is Taking Credit For New U.S. Factories. Does He Deserve It?
The Wall Street Journal (7/12, Keilman, Torry) reported that the White House attributes nearly $2 trillion in manufacturing-related projects announced since the beginning of the year to the “Trump Effect.” The administration maintains a list of US-based investments, including factories and data centers, spurred by Trump’s industrial revitalization efforts. Notable projects include Apple’s $500 billion US investment and Kraft Heinz’s $3 billion plant upgrade. Some investments, like Anduril Industries’ autonomous weapons plant, were planned before Trump’s presidency but gained momentum during it. Micron Technology’s $200 billion investment was also added to the list.
