UK DWP contact details.
UK DWP contact details.
Hi Guys
Would be really grateful if someone with the phone number or email address of the Proof of Life dept. could copy me over with it.
No UK pension payments for more than 2 months, not sure if there is anything in the Snail Mail system and wife threw out the docs with these contact details before I had saved them.
Cheers in advance.

Re: UK DWP contact details.
I know it can be a bit confusing but there is no direct call number in your link (already checked).Doodoo wrote: July 4, 2025, 6:31 pm Easy Peasy

OR Call them at the Embassy
Its a specific number included in correspondence when the DWP send Proof of Life certification to individuals.
My experience of the Embassy, chocolate ashtray comes to mind.
Re: UK DWP contact details.
Here we go: 0191 218 7777 or 0191 218 7280

Thank you Mak Mak.

Telephone: +44 191 218 7777
Textphone: +44 191 218 7280
Those numbers are from the downloadable life certificate form from DWP website that includes the bizarre advice to NOT send the form unless they've requested it. They also claim, "We have many
different ways we can communicate with you." but it seems they are stuck on the world's snail mail system as the primary one. Maybe that's why they allow 16 weeks to respond?
Good luck on getting your pension unclogged.

Re: UK DWP contact details.
Just for info, a friend of mine was on hold listening to whatever the muzak is for over 40 mins last week. He gave up when his credit ran out. I had to lend him my phone which has free calls to try again.
Re: UK DWP contact details.
Try this number from Thailand : 0044 800 731 7898

Apologies Doodoo, I missed that information on page 2 when I read over originally. Seems everyone can be confused at times

Re: UK DWP contact details.
Thanks Gents.
Will try out the numbers Monday coming.
The DWP have your telephone number and email address but insist on sending out snail mail correspondence that you have no idea it's supposed to be coming then stopping your pension because you haven't responded. Makes perfect sense doesn't it?

Sorted gents, thanks MakMak for your help.
They claim its for security reasons they must send out hard copies of the certificate but are very aware that there are many, many complaints from expats about not receiving initial snail mails.

Mind you, the UK government is rolling out a digital wallet and it's not the cash handout thing like these muppets. The UK has/had the online "government gateway" for a while. I only used it once and was pretty much akin to that other technology marvel called Teletext. But this new wallet will host all your government-related stuff, including your passport in a digital format. I would imagine pension-related stuff and the like would also be hosted on the app, including proof of life requests.
Anyway, glad you got it sorted. How was the phone menu and "hold" time like?

Re: UK DWP contact details.
The usual time/money wasting blurb at the start then the last of 3 options was the one I needed. Waiting time pretty good both times I had to call, only about 5 minutes then around another 5 minutes answering personal details but overall pretty good. First call the girls English local accent was so strong I could hardly understand her, second call much better.tamada wrote: July 10, 2025, 7:37 pmComputer? You wish. Ah, so we assume the second call was handled by their call centre in Chennai.AlexO wrote: July 10, 2025, 10:23 pmThe usual time/money wasting blurb at the start then the last of 3 options was the one I needed. No definitely an Anglo Saxon accent spoken quite clearly. The first one sounded as if her parents came from a combination of North East Scotland and North East Engurland
