Notwithstanding that Tam, I would never use BA and its antiquated business model if I could possibly avoid it.
BA, Air France and its ptnr KLM must be some of the worst passenger experiences possible.

You seem to have an experienced remarkably limited number of airlines. An example of a single airline that is significantly worse than any of those three is TAROM airlines and it is probably the least good, I have flown on a few airlines that ranked lower than those three and while I haven’t flown on Air France so can’t compare, I have flown on both BA & KLM a few times.

I haven't had the occasion to fly Tarom, but you guys should try Air Koryo sometime if you're looking for airlines that leave something to be desired.

Admittedly it was a while ago, but being made to wait on the apron in a queue to get into the terminal building with machine guns being used a batons at 3am in negative temperatures on the way to Bangkok, when we finally got into the terminal building only 1 out of 3 lights were functioning, all but 1 of the shops were shuttered and the last one, a cafe, tried to close, then on the flight itself the stewardess criteria was to be built like ex shot put contenders with a minimum age limit of 40, the only thing that could be said that was not derogatory was that the quantity of the meal was not small but we all got 6 pieces of cold meat I couldn’t say which animals were sacrificed for us.

The one small saving grace was the bottle of slivovitz I was able to buy from the cafe

It is certainly possible that Air koryo maybe worse than that but they would have to try quite hard to top that experience. I look forward to anything you have to share.

CAAC back around 1980, mainland China, domestic flight, Dunhuang to Lanzhou using their clone of the Soviet clone of the Fokker Friendship. The regular seating maxed out at around 48 but they would hot-seat another couple of dozen passengers on metal folding chairs set in the aisle with a "safety chain" running through the legs...but no seatbelts. Sort of a 2-1-2 configuration.

Did a bit of flying on Planes in Libya back in 1975 . First memorable event was a DC-3. the doorstep to enter the plane was worn away by about 10 cms. Someone asked how old the plane was -The reply "1938, second set of wings and god knows how many engines!". We flew into a sandstorm while the pilot was looking for the landing strip. On the 5th attempt he spotted it and dived down like a Stuka. I hitched a lift back in a truck a month later, seemed safer.

Next time was in a Fokker friendship. back in those days they didn't close the cockpit door. The 'pilot' had to be a Libyan, the co-pilot was British, giving the pilot directions. As we sped along the runway. the co=pilot said "Pull up" then repeated twice more with increasing urgency. Next a hand swiftly moved across and yanked a lever down and we took off with about 100 metres of runway to spare.

Entertainment!
