Sad to report that long time Udon resident Peter Covey has passed away at the age of 84. Peter was part of an English language instructor team headed by Steve Graham at Rajhabhat University for several years. He then opened the Udon Education Foundation offering free English language lessons at the foundation headquarters located on Jamnusorn road in Udon Thani. He also ran free extension courses with volunteers at a number of rural schools throughout the Province.
The Udon Education Foundation (UEF) was well known and respected for reaching out to Thai students and their teachers throughout the province. The volunteer teachers also offered English language assistance to adults at the headquarters
on a regular basis.

As a post script I failed to recognize his financial assistance to the UEF Administrator Ms Saengthian Lord to allow her to obtain a Master's Degree from Rajaphat University. Peter was truly into education and helping people above all else.

I need to post a correction to Ms Saengthian' AKA Sandy's name. She has since remarried and now goes by Mrs. Saengthian O Daniel. Her nickname is still Sandy. Sorry for the mistake.
