Wonderful reply Pratty, about as much sense as most of your posts.
Still got you to bite though.

How about my opinion that 'personalities' are maybe more significant than policy and promises?
Do Aussie politicians have personalities, if so like so many politico's, its very well hidden. :-"
To be honest Tam I have a feeling it was more an anti Trump vote rather than an intelligent vote based on policies and dare I say it, any semblance of common sense.

Yes, they do tend to be more 'bump on a log' than charismatic snake oil salesman, but at least Labor can claim their win to be a landslide, same as their namesakes in the UK last year.

Maybe something for another thread, but I subscribe to the notion that this global 'anti-Trump' agenda is being way overplayed. Yes, Mr Albanese's words may have alluded to poking Washington in the eye (I haven't read a full transcript, only heard the same sound bite as everyone else), but I think it is a hugely tainted mainstream media that has exuberantly labelled it as a direct swipe at the 4-year reprise of Barnum & Baileys. They desperately want an (English-speaking, and preferably white) world leader to publicly hold up a stiff middle-finger to #47 but that aint never gonna happen. Carney's trying his best, but he's hobbled by the legacy he has inherited. Starmer? Not a snowball's chance in hell, ever.

1. The nuclear power stations policy was was very unpopular.

2. Dutton promised to sack 41,000 public servants in Canberra with no details, there are only 70,000 public servants there. Made him sound like Musk.

3. Dutton wanted to scrap Work from Home. Incredibly unpopular with working mothers. His popularity with women plumetted.

4. Nationals right wing darling Price made an ass of herself claiming 'Make Australia Great Again'

5. Coalition had a fractured policy weak approach to housing and cost of living issues.

6 Albo pretty much outmatched Dutton in all debates

And yes Trump, but the domestic issues took precedence.

1 term Albo had his finger on the pulse and morphed into 2 term Albo
