But that's purely my opinion and I'm not trying to convince anyone otherwise or suggesting that anyone believing otherwise is wrong.

Thats unusually kind of you.
The Tory Party in-fighting after the Referendum was a disgrace. The Party line was support for Brexit but there was a large number of Tory MP's who believed that they could just ignore the peoples vote and work to undermine the Party line. Unsurprisingly many of them are no longer feeding from the Westminster trough now.

Just watched a question time that both candidates attended separately. Both performed quite well, not a lot to differentiate between them.
Would like to think that whoever is chosen by the membership will include their opponent in the new Shadow Government.
Still have a feeling the Badenoch is just a darker shade of grey than who Middle England will want/choose to head up the Tory Party in opposition.

The Torygraph reports that Badenoch was better than Jenrick so that means he will win.

I suspect the equivalent of the night of the long knives will be brewing in Tory circles.

The Tories look as if they are going to be in the political wilderness for the foreseeable future, thats if they survive as a political party at all.
Kind of serves them right, trying to be left of the Bliarite New Liebour.
Much to the angst that will be felt by some members of the chattering class it looks just now as if the populist (never understand why popular policies are phoo, phooed by some) Reform are looking as if they will scoop up the vast majority of disaffected former Tory/Liebour voters.
Still cannot reckon with the numbers who actually waste their vote by putting an X against the Lib/Dem rainbow party.
