Uncle, when you talk about a "90-day visa", do you actually mean 90 day report?

Marriage extensions are normally for 12 months. Your call back date (when your extension stamps go into your passport), I assume is, 26 April, at which time you would also normally be stamped up for the next 90 day report.

Yes, the lady stamped me for the 90-day report today so that I do not have to return on the 26th. I did the 12-month extension too with the stamps, but she said I do not have to return for the next marriage extension until 16 May 2026. Originally, I was supposed to do the marriage extension on 16 April; however, since the Khon Kaen office will be closed for Songkran, we came early.

Alls well that ends well except for the long drive to the immigration office.

The NL West teams are doing well so far.

The KK Imm office has always been hunky-dory. :D

I got my marriage visa extension completed without any problems and the female immigration office was kind enough to grant me another 90-day visa although that does not have to be completed until 26 April. She also gave us a 100 baht refund on the 2,000 baht for the extension.
Just a few of corrections in wording.

There is no 90-day visa office; It’s the 90 day report of stay.

It is standard practice to allow (in some offices it is required) a 90 day report when you apply for or get an extension.

There is no marriage visa extension, visas are never extended; it’s an extension of stay.

The fee for an extension of stay is ฿1,900, so you were correctly given your ฿100 change no kindness required.

You may consider these a irrelevant semantics, unfortunately semantics are rather important for immigration purposes. Visa, stays have different requirements to extensions of stay, stays

In my posts all fees and requirements are the standard R&R but TIT and a brown envelope can make incredible changes YMMV.

Semantics do matter. Unfortunately, I always forget the correct terminology by the time it is necessary to visit Khon Kaen Immigration and report the results on Udon Map again.

The only reason I mentioned the kindness of the Immigration lady in returning the correct change is that some members have complained about not receiving a refund.

The main point to remember about the Khon Kaen Immigration post is that I wanted to advise Khon Kaen members that the Immigration Office has moved from the bus terminal (baw kaw saw) 3 to 9-10 kms. out of the city. I should have stuck to the courtesy message rather than expand the post to a personal experience.

The above address is incorrect. Sorry about that.

This address for the new location of Khon Kaen Immigration should be the correct one:

That point (though semantically it’s not a refund it’s your change) it certainly worth noting.

That some of the Udon IOs state that’s extension fee is 2,000 that is exactly why I give the required 1,900.

The 100 baht is small but the blatant deception is not. FWIW no IO has told me the the proffered 1,900 is short.

I don't mind parting with the 100 baht be it a blatant scam. As such I front up with the bare essentials and don't photocopy anything, I consider it lunch money for the school intern's, who don't get paid and at the end off the day a smile is better than a scowl.

Yes, like the kind immigration lady at Ooodorn who explains the theft of 100 baht as 'paying for the photo'.

They can't help themselves.
