First of all you are bringing up things that have nothing to do with DOGE. These remote workers were told by their employer to work remotely. Now if these instructions have changed for them then appropriate action should be taken against any employee who does not return to the office. And you don't have any idea what these individuals do or don't do.

You bring up kick backs. Where is the evidence?

The USAID payments haven't been called dodgy, just wasteful. But the thing about waste is that it is opinionated. What one person might think is a good cause another may not. The only "dodgy" thing I have seen so far is Musk trying to get the $2.4 billion Verizon contract with the FAA cancelled so Space X can have it.

These people aren't doing audits, that's what the OIG does. They will never find fraud because you can't find it sitting behind the computer, it needs to be investigated, and that's what the OIG does, and they do it pretty well.

So the bottom line is Musk and his hackers have not found any fraud or corruption, only what they consider to be wasteful spending.

The number of nonexistent, duplicate numbers, phony numbers and dead people on Social Security screams fraud and corruption. Yes, the empty government buildings where workers were not attending was also discovered by DOGE when they showed up to do their "checks" in various agencies.

The fraud and corruption that is immediately recognizable in USAID is the involvement in and financing of "unrest and protests" in foreign countries attempting to create regime changes. Heavy involvement in uXXXkraine that brought Zelenskyyyyyy into power (see career bureaucrat Victoria Nuland) and the attempts that were made to get Viktor Orban ousted from power in Hungary. Only if they are collecting payments, which they are not. As I pointed out above, the Social Security system is not paying them, and knows that they are dead, but there has been no mechanism to remove those numbers from the system. That fraud was overcharging the government by claiming marketing costs as reimbursable, by striking illegal deals with home care agencies, and by filing false data about use of hospital space. It also admitted to fraudulently billing Medicare and other health programs by inflating the seriousness of diagnoses and to giving doctors partnerships in company hospitals as a kickback for the doctors referring patients to HCA. It filed false cost reports, fraudulently billed Medicare for home health care workers, and paid kickbacks in the sale of home health agencies and to doctors to refer patients. In addition, it gave doctors "loans" never intending to be repaid, free rent, free office furniture, and free drugs from hospital pharmacies. Nothing about claims for dead people.

I understand that, I was just trying to make a point to the previous poster. You don’t need or use a dead persons SS # for fraud, you use someone who is alive and on Medicare or Medicaid.

It was a lengthy informercial for the world richest man (who obtained that wealth from government subsidies). On the numbers, perhaps you're right. But Trump et al., will have to do some scrambling if Canada cuts off electricity sales to the northern U.S. While the government (or what Musk allows to remain of it) will eventually figure out an alternate source of electricity for the affected northern states, we will definitely feel it. And those northern states will be none too happy with the President, particularly if he slow walks solutions for states which voted for Harris.
