Buying a new (or nearly new) pick up

Post by deankham » December 23, 2024, 5:49 pm

The wife is looking for a new pick up (as usual she wants brand new as legend has it every used truck has been flooded   ).

Anyway to save some leg work wondering if anyone has recently been kicking any tyres and can give some clues on which models have some decent discounts from the dealers in or around UDON.

Ideally looking for a 4 door auto, but 2.5 door and manual also a possibility. Looking for a lower spec as will spend a lot of time out in the village. Will not be financing. No preference on manufacturer, lower price or bigger discount welcomed!

Thanks

I haven't kicked any tires but, as a serial Ford buyer, I am getting regular messages from them on all sorts of bargains. The latest was on some version of the Everest for around 1.2m baht. Since all types motor sales seem to have fallen off a cliff this year, I would assume it's a bit of a buyer's market, regardless of what breed you end up buying? Just hit their websites as there's unlikely to be much variance from manufacturer's RRP. Then it would be a case of asking which dealership recently gave the best customer satisfaction. That can vary as good sales people, like good mechanics and good teachers, tend to follow the money.

"Since all types motor sales seem to have fallen off a cliff this year,"

This is usually a sign of an overall decline in the economy.
Along with other factors being publicized, businesses shutting.
"Retail chains are on track to close the highest number of stores in 2024 than any year since the pandemic decimated the industry in 2020. Family Dollar has announced 677 store closings this year. Walgreens is closing 259. Big Lots is closing 360. LL Flooring is shutting down entirely."

Was in Mazda a few weeks ago had a new 2022 manual BT50 4door for 800k but was told could get for a lot less
Asked what year the tyres, it had 2020. I said too old, she said they would replace them with newer ones
I am interested in getting a new manual truck but neither Mazda or Ford are doing new manuals

I can recommend MG extender, they have promotions 580 000 bath 4 doors and automatic with 5 year warranty i just bought one thi year, i thinking it is most bang for the buck:).
If you want 1,5 doors and with a stick it’s cheaper
