"Mussolini and Hitler who, presumably, were from a more vibrant and intellectually superior generation"

Mussolini was brought up in a poor family with his father being a Blacksmith, drinking and spending his wage on his mistress.

"Hitler rebelled against this decision, and in Mein Kampf states that he intentionally performed poorly in school, hoping that once his father saw "what little progress I was making at the technical school he would let me devote myself to my dream"
So where is the vibrant and intellectual superior generation come from???

You are asking the wrong person, doodoo. Someone else brought up the 'old geezer' phrase and its implications.

I am a US citizen and I will not vote for either of these old men. I have no idea what is wrong with both parties. I am an old man too and I know for a fact that I am slipping. Biden cannot even put a sentence together. Trump is just Trump, No doubt better mentally than Biden, but we all know Trump..

Voting for any of these candidates is the same as not voting at all.

Forgot to mention that some would look upon Trump as an 'old geezer', which is very different from Mussolini and Hitler who, presumably, were from a more vibrant and intellectually superior generation when they acquired dictatorial power. That being said, let's hope that Trump never acquires it.
100% with you on this observation. The other huge difference, is Trump came with a silver spoon in his mouth, if he was not coddles and bankrolled by his father, would he have amounted to anything?

Comparisons with Hitler are as spectacularly predictable as they are ill-conceived. They are promulgated by people with an inferior grasp of 20th century European socio-economics and amplified by those with a less than superficial knowledge of inter-war history.

Or, those who are absolutely clueless.
