I wonder if reporting that to the PEA hotline would get it looked after?

An email with the photo and the GPS coordinates to: [email protected] may get the response you desire without the need for a Thai speaker or loads of hassle.

Even if it is not their authority to repair such things they may know where to FWD the message.

Sound advice Mr. P. The PEA is walking distance from my house.

Reported to PEA, their first comment was the 7/11 was responsible. I pointed out it was a light pole, not carrying services to the shop. It will be interesting to see if they fix, if not fixed by end of day tomorrow, I will report it to the police and Amphur as a potential road and public safety hazard.

I don't think PEA are responsible for "light poles". Power poles maybe. More like a sloppy municipal authority who will probably ask, "What's the problem? It hasn't fallen down yet."

I don't know who's authority the light poles lie. Tam is likely right but who knows how to contact them? Since the lights have power, I would guess the PEA would know who to contact especially if there is an ID number on the pole of some kind. Please tell if the police help as that would give them a positive point in my tally instead of the usual demerits.

Good idea to walk over and ask but 2 years of pestering the local PEA resulted in no action for my persistent low voltage issues at my business some time back in NKI. An email to the PEA hotline got action in my case.

Maybe nothing will come of it but it can't hurt and certainly burns less calories than dealing with the frustrations that are dugin deep in the local PEA offices, IMHO.

Fair warning: Use a disposable email address if you contact the hotline this way as the PEA keep a list of customers that complain and write back in a broadcast email with all addresses in the TO: field making them visible to all.

Whistler, while you were quite possibly sitting at the coffee shop opposite 7-11 taking this picture, did you notice all the people riding around on their scooters without their helmuts on, not fearing any repercussions? Safety is not a priority here

Did spot the odd non compliant rider. I always wear one myself, partner is so proud of me being safety concious that she quite often kisses me on the helmet.

Occasional? I live in Kutchap, the majority ride around without helmuts.

I live in Kut Chap Heights, a better class of people here who are fastidious about safety.
