Good on you for actually reading through some source. Apparently they're cleaning up their backlog, which actually does look like a problematic number. No doubt you saw that too. But my intentions wasn't to start a debate about the whats and whys of missing kids in the US. The point was, don't just read 500,000 kids reported missing every year and think oh golly, what a poo-show the US is. Sure glad I don't live there! Which is what almost invariably happens on teh internets.
I get it, this 100+ page thread is more about shock/comedy than anything else. That's fine. I just did a quick back-of-the-envelope on the "it's documented" number and thought 1 in 8 kids, nah that's gotta be BS. Upon further review, I stand by my initial assessment.
This isn't criticism of either of you. Just a hard reality of life in the virtual reality, fake news world of today.
