Carnoustie-Panmure had a memorable week as they blasted Blaingowrie, 6-2 on Wednesday, and downed a tough Abroath squad, 3-0, yesterday. One would think Manchester United and the Evertons would try and pick up a few strikers from C-P to bolster their pathetic offences.

Brechin City came through with a huge 3-0 defeat of the always strong Strathspey Thistle squad, 3-0.

The only downside was Dundee United getting held to a 1-1 draw by a heavily favoured Blaingowrie team.

In January, mediocre, mid-table Aberdeen sacked their manager and gave Barry Robson a 'temporary' job as caretaker manager. In May, after a late season 7-game "incredible Pittodrie transformation" got them into Europe, he was given the job with a 2-year contract.

Now, after a 5-game winless league start to 2023/24, and a short-lived Europa League campaign, apparently his job is on the line.

There are a couple of shutouts to report from Scottish soccer on the weekend. In Scottish Cup action, Brechin City blanked Rothes 3-0. You will be pleased to read that Dundee United kept Inverness CT at bay by a one nothing count.
