And they have all agreed to pay that nice Mr Hilton a regular weekly fee in exchange for being allowed to play :-"

Luton beat the mackems 2 nowt to go to the championship play off finally ... not being nasty to the sky blues or smoggies but i hope they win and go up just to see how the EFL deem their Kenilworth road ground suitable for the PL ..

Sunderlands year next year perhaps.

DM
Thought it was sounding too good to be true. Luton are not a Premiership club though, if they do the unthinkable will be short lived time in EPL. :-k

I'll put my hopes in Borough. Will be good to have a second N.E Team in the EPL and good for the City, which is an absolute nonsense hole

Alan what was you expecting ? .. a tropical beachside location or views of snow capped mountains .. its Scunny and if rumours are correct a new purpose built stadium , car parking all weather training facility and a hotel.

Up to 5 new signings , all of whom are excellent going by the SM frenzy.

Maybe things arent quite so bad ... just the issue with Glanford park to clarify at tonights AGM n fan forum which is sold out and will be heavy on security for sure.

As Frank Carson would have said, "It's a cracker."

Sheffield Wednesday pulled off the greatest play-off comeback in English Football League history to beat Peterborough United on penalties on an unforgettable night in South Yorkshire.

Substitute Jack Hunt scored the all-important fifth penalty as the Owls, who had trailed 4-0 from the first leg, secured their place at Wembley in the League One play-off final.

Prior to this tie, no team had ever overcome more than a two-goal first-leg deficit in the EFL play-offs to reach the final.

Wednesday, who were the first team in EFL history to win 96 points and not go up automatically, will now face either Bolton or Barnsley at Wembley on Monday, 29 May.

Must admit to being a bit shocked when the toon game finished to find out that extra time was being played and had to keep tabs until the end ........ more sleep lost. Having got back to 4 - 4 (about 6 or 7 mins into injury time), I expected them to fold when Posh got the own goal in extra time, but credit where its due they came back again to force and eventually win with a perfect display of penalty taking

Was speaking to a guy from Scunthorpe yesterday at the LUFC game. He was from a village called Winterton (??). Apparently the team from their village are only 2 leagues behind the mighty Irons now.

It seems to have gone unnoticed that former SCUNTHORPE Utd striker Kevin Van Veen has just broken the Scotish goal scoring record playing for Motherwell .. 11 goals in 11 games beating Mark Vidukas old record of 10 in 10... just goes to show the level of Jock football i suppose ..

Well done to the cryptonite Cloggie KVV

Did the V Bomber set that record as a 15 year old (before he started playing proper mens football) or was it after a few years retirement from the Pro game?

You never know .. as well as Luton who have completed the amazing 9 year Non league to EPL the likes of Wrexham , Stockport are all on the up and lets not forget Brentford and Crystal Palace Notts Forrest and Bouremouth all previously lower down the leagues... most making the mighty Everton look mugs this season and yet another disasterous trophyless season swirling around the plug hole for the Toffees whose fans for some reason think the club has some sort of greatness or history about it when clearly with abject failure for decades it hasnt.

Open the link for a bit of history and nostalgia .. (just for you Alan)

imo 1960 to 1982 worst kit era as had those years in firstly Leeds white then Liverpool red .. happily back to claret n blue after fans raised the issue in 1981 and demanded a change.

http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Scuntho ... United.htm

DM the proud owner of quite a few of the shirts and 100% i much prefer the old round UNITY crest to any other.

Are any of those jerseys sponsor free? I detest those shirts with the sponsor's name pasted over a team's jersey.

In the early days kits did not have sponsors names .. i think that started about the late 80s 90s .. the oldest shirt i still have is with the Brkenden logo on the front ..also got the Motek Wembley winning shirt and a couple more recent 2012 /13 and 2018/9.... sorry to dissapoint none are for sale !!

Im pretty sure that in UK clubs that have booze/betting logos on their shirts are legally required to provide shirts in junior sizes without the sponsors name
