Royal mail uk

Post by Hoopoe » March 18, 2023, 10:09 am

Royal mail UK to Thailand
Proof of life doc for pension took
6 weeks to get here.. Hmm makes me wonder how long the return post will take.
I've another important Doc coming. Posted 13/02 still not arrived.
Registered disappeared at Gatwick .
The UK gov pension is archaic in this day and age. I've another pension all confirmation of existence done online.

"Hmm makes me wonder how long the return post will take"

I've been helping the Thai family of a deceased UK citizen. Returning signed documents to the UK has been taking between 4 to 7 days using the EMS postal option. Don't get much change out of 1000 Baht for an A4 envelope and 5 odd pages.

The pension funds have been sending me the blank forms by email in *.pdf format.
Sent from my 1977 Apple II using 2 Heinz bake bean cans and piano wire!

All one can do is gives one's own experience.

Earlier today I received a letter posted in Central London on 02/03/23 and sent to a small village some 15 kilometres outside Bandung. Ever since it was posted I have been able to track its progress.

Every 2 month I get a small package sent from the UK (Royal Mail) tracked. I can track it all the way. Takes about 10 days to arrive here at the village. Costs just under £10.00

There seems to be quite a difference between the "tracked" and ordinary mail. My Pension letters and bank letters usually vary between 4 and 10 weeks (this year 5 weeks). Perhaps where the delivery is made may be causing delays. If you live in a small village, but its on route to somewhere that has 100 letters delivered a day you may get a better service than someone who lives nearer but has to wait for enough mail to arrive to make a delivery worthwhile

Good point out in the sticks. I tend to get other people's mail and I deliver to their houses nearby. This only happens if there's mail for me. (maybe because I'm the only one with a letter box.)
