The reason I ask, I didn't realize canned and bottled beer has such a short shelf life, Heineken 6 months from the date stamped on the Tin/Bottle.
.........................
I arrived into South Australia 2 weeks ago to find 25 out of a 30 can "Block" of Castlemaine 4XXXX in the wardrobe/bedroom I keep here. I bought it in Nov 2019, so it's been through 3 x 40+ deg summers and 2 x 4 deg winters.
Threw a few into the fridge and taste tested, no difference as compared to newly purchased 4XXXX - finished up consuming the whole lot - NO ICE! Too bloody cold here anyway.
'fraid the question HAS to be asked ...... were you THAT sick in 2019 that you could only drink 5 out of a 30 can block?

Wrong question, statts.

Should be asking "who in the world admits to buying, and then drinking XXXX beer".

Or calling any Aussie 'beer' beer for that matter (with the exception of Boag's).

BD was my guide and mentor way back last century as we searched for Esso's "energy for Australia' in darkest Qld. The beer of choice on the campsite was XXXX and being able to identify and thus avoid a pre-frozen bottle of piss by the blue metallic-looking tinge on the brown stubby was a rite of passage.

Even been to S.A. and tried to drink/stomach Southwark or West End Bitter, their local -brew- (I use the term loosely)

Sent from my 1977 Apple II using 2 Heinz bake bean cans and piano wire!

While living in Florida, a friend and myself would order a pitcher of beer. We would both pour our mugs full. then the waiter would drop a baggie full of ice in the pitcher. I kept the beer fairly cold but not icy cold.

That's how pitchers of beer are kept cold in icehouses, bars and the likes of Hooters in Houston.
