Re: Jumbo canceled
Just an accident?
Re: Jumbo canceled
It appears that the movers failed to monitor the weather. That old top heavy monstrosity seems to have blown over.
Re: Jumbo canceled
The "undisclosed location" it was headed for was apparently somewhere near the Paracel Islands?
Last year, the separate kitchen barge that was behind the "palace" sank in the harbor. There's no way the restaurant was seaworthy to be towed anywhere, let alone the South China Sea in typhoon season.
How do you say 'insurance job' in Mandarin?

Re: Jumbo canceled
Now we know why the Jumbo restaurant was being towed from Hong Kong to the Paracels. It was probably going to be a gunnery, bombing and torpedo target. Maybe used to stage an 'Taiwan invasion' exercise?

I've eaten on Jumbo twice. Was certainly a landmark in Aberdeen. Yes would be interesting to see the insurance underwriters report on this one!
