DM "at what point will returnees be stopped from coming in to Udon "
The city says they're doing 10 total trips for returnees.....that's all they're budgeted for

DM (I can't find the question......but it was something like "is the Industrial Park for infected people or for people under quarantine coming from red hot zones): According to the press ศูนย์มรกตรองรับผู้ติดเชื้อแล้ว ประมาณ 230 เตีย The Emerald Center for Infected people has 230 beds occupied.

My wife told me now 60 cases associated with Sam Prao market (now closed). Not very happy because now all the people from Sam Prao now go to OUR local market at Nong Bu, only 500 metres away.

That is why I never use these local open air markets, firstly FOOD Hygiene poor , secon dly peoples aversion to masks, closeness and general mixing also in some cases NON -existent.
Near me there are two both over crowded and unsanitary , both possible beds of tgransmission and or food poisoning, so I stay clear, only venturing out first thing for the plastics man just as he is setting up. Virtually no-one else there. .

Does anyone know how it works in Udon when someone tests positive? I mean I assume you have no choice but to be hospitalized, but does the government foot the bill or what? I remember hearing that the government would pay for everything but who can believe that.

It's one thing to seek treatment but to be forced into it and then be charged for it? What's the deal?

You're forced into it because the virus is contagious. I'm guessing that if you opt for the warehouse style of treatment, you won't pay. But if you're serious enough to require hospital treatment.....government or private.....you'll pay.

It's contagious in the West too but you aren't forced. Anyway let's not debate it. It is what it is. Would be great to find out, from any farangs who've tested positive, how the process worked exactly. The forced hospitalization policy is a nightmare for those with small children which is why I ask.

Good points raised ..it would also be interesting to know if any expats here know an expat that has been infected at all ... i dont and no body i see and talk to regularly seems to know of any expat infections.

If I remember rightly we have had one only Farang case here in the rice paddies of Ban Dung, an American who had just flown in from the Philippines back in the early days - see here:

viewtopic.php?f=139&t=51375&start=560#p571146

He was hospitalized in Udon General, I did hear on the jungle drums he was charged but I don't know how much.

Can we assume Udon province has already taken its total number of 10 trips of returnees as was planned and budgeted for by the local authourities and the province in now on extras ?

only 6 local cases realistically not too bad .

The situation is not in the hands of Local Governors.

The Government has given anyone who is tested positive in Bangkok the choice to be returned home to their local province for treatment because Bangkok can not handle the cases.

The Government is now paying for it.
That is why the cases in every Province has skyrocketed.

I haven't seen reports of how many beds are occupied in the Industrial Park or Rahjapat University conference hall (Samprao).....but I did see this call for 100 fans as most of the beds at Samprao are occupied.

Perhaps the Hi sos in and around BKK not happy that their numbers are still not reducing yet even though they are sharing their infections around the country,

Funny how the way to stop infection spreading amongst the poor in worker camps is to lock them in, but they dont seem to think thats the way when its the rich and Hi Sos that would be locked in :-k
