There are a lot of animals which can carry covid just like the flusometimewoodworker wrote: ↑January 15, 2021, 9:22 pmExtraordinarily unlikely since it is similar to the first SARS virus in mutation speed.
Influenza is nothing like either SARS or COVID-19, influenza has large animal reservoirs to aide mutation and is 4 times faster than COVID-19. HIV is far faster than either of the other 2 so a vaccine is extremely difficult to produce.
There will be other viruses that are significantly bad, when they will come is like predicting earthquakes.

It is the result of information gleaned from various agencies in the EU and posted as a Q and A for all to read as information . But like everything posted on the internet it is a heaqds up and questions about its content should be checked and verified by other sources. Scientific knowledge is also subject to be questioned as there are so many theories about much of this stuff.

Re: Corona Virus / COVID-19 Important Information
So they think if you contract the virus you might become immune for 5 months , they don't know how long the vaccine will protect you either , many mutations are happening so they can't predict if the vaccine will be effective. Guess that's why it takes years to create a true vaccine. So I guess we really don't know a lot except it spreads fast and kills. The bright side is they have created many vaccines so let's hope at least one turns out to be truly effective .

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.
You seem to be deliberately missing the point that virologists state that covid19 and influenza are completely different in the mutation rate have completely different base types that influenza has a large old pool of mutations and that you are making completely unfounded correlations. Zoonotic transfer is well proven and common with influenza, there isn’t data to support easy and common transfer with COVID19, there has been transfer to zoo animals, no (or insufficient) information on wildlife transfer.
Take similar viruses for comparison not a Citation and a 747
How many of the viral diseases have to change its vaccination type with any frequency? 1?
How many do not? All the other viral diseases that have a vaccine available?
So why a comparison to the unusual?
The better comparison is the original SARS where immunity is currently at 17 years, and only at 17 years because that’s how long it’s been since it was first discovered, the immune response time is going up 1 year each year.
Yellow fever vaccination is a 10 minimum year protection on the certificate, longer in practice.
Until there is more data (currently mutations do not need a vaccine modification) your prediction is unfounded.
Will there have to be new types of vaccine? Possibly, no data either way.
Will they be a annual change? Extremely unlikely, mutation rate.
How often could a modification be needed? No data to support a prediction.

Here's an interesting discussion on the efficacy of all currently released vaccines in light of the UK's recent decision to delay the second shot instead of following the manufacturers recommended time line.

No, they know that the immunity lasts at least 8 months, no data for a longer prediction as there hasn’t been enough time. Probably much much longer (see SARS-COV 1)
they don't know how long the vaccine will protect you either ,
Correct, not enough data due to not enough time, likely years
many mutations are happening so they can't predict if the vaccine will be effective.
Incorrect, there are few VOCs currently 3, the multi factor vaccine is likely to be effective for B.1.1.7 and B.1.351 insufficient data for the P1
Guess that's why it takes years to create a true vaccine.
incorrect, the vaccines for COVID19 are “true vaccines”
So I guess we really don't know a lot except it spreads fast and kills. The bright side is they have created many vaccines so let's hope at least one turns out to be truly effective .
So far 3 vaccines are providing significantly better protection than being infected and recovered, insufficient data for others

Making unfounded assumptions again.
Yes it is likely that it transferred, probably from bats, in 2019.
Easily transferred? Please support that claim. Bats have been in the markets in China for years, if the transfer was so easy why did it take so long?

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.
What is my unfounded assumption
Pagolin just as probable as bats which you assumed
We live with chickens, pigs for millenniums without transfer, then something mutates
Just as all those minks had to be slaughtered as transfer happened

There is no significant difference in the reasonably long availability of Pagolin in the same markets.Pagolin just as probable as bats
No change in the unfounded nature of your assumption of easy transfer.

Twenty-three elderly Norwegian people died after receiving Pfizer vaccines. Thirteen of them have been assessed and common side effects may have contributed to severe reactions in them, according to the Norwegian Medicines Agency.
Norway is a small Northern European country and only about 25,000 people have been vaccinated with Pfizer vaccines. Twenty-three deaths are a large number. But surprisingly, mainstream English-language media did not report the incident immediately, as if they had already reached a consensus. Major US and UK media were obviously downplaying their deaths.

My original thought when I started this thread was for it to be a place for people to head to if they thought they had the symptoms and what to do if they did. Unfortunately it's become a pile of crap that is about as much use as a kick in the tabs and I've given up hope of it serving it's original purpose, give up Tam I've tried on many occasions to keep the integrity of the thread to no avail.
Thought the importance of possible major problems with vaccines might be important
More so than the endless posting of numbers

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.
The original post about the dead old Noggies came without citation or link so beyond the expressed opinion that MSM is burying the story, how can this story be of benefit? At that juncture, it was unconfirmed and didn't serve any purpose beyond getting the wind up the Nervous Nellies, conspiracy theorists and anti-vaxers. However, it is PERFECT for discussion and debate.
Lacking facts at that time and having already led to discussion, I considered it better placed in this thread. So I used the 'Report' button and let the forum Moderator decide.
I don't seek be a Moderator, just using the forum tools to help separate news from opinion and keep the "important stuff" thread for exactly that.
Anyway, here's more recent follow up on the original story.

Since the start of mass vaccinations Norway is not the only country to report vaccinated deaths
Still to be determined what caused premature deaths of old folks

Surely more Norwegians will die of frost bite and hypothermia than a dodgy covid vaccine ?? is there a real concrete link to he vaccine and the dead ..was 29 now 13 fatalities ..including one guy who was run over by a runaway sledge being driven by a naked drunk chap on a stag night .
my point being lets wait n see the real numbers and effects before assuming the vaccines are in ayway safe or dikky.
