As there has been an official release, I'll buy that Trump tested positive for the virus (you have to fact check everything now days, just wish everyone did it before posting on an open forum)

(just my opinion/guess/out there theory...... to qualify the following)
1. Been positive for a while, just announcing now to get sympathy points and outta future debates.
2. Doubt he's using the virus to justify resigning, as either way once he's out of office he'll most likely be going to jail.
3. Allows him to cancel planned rallies, as attendance wasn't expect to be great anyways (like his previous rallies).
4. Isolation wouldn't be bad for him, as every public appearance/interview just makes him look more like a lying fool (if that's even possible).
5. (really out there) Have Melania die from the virus for sympathy points/votes to get re-elected, it works on TV shows and in the movies.
6. (not that far out there) Use this as an excuse for losing the election (one of many, I expect).
7. Place him on death bed status (perfect timing) over the next week for sympathy votes. Works for Melania, also!!
8. Over the next week, claim a fully recover-antibody immunity due to a vaccine (not bleach or hydroxy, though possible) and do the "i told you a vaccine would be available before the election."
9. Claim that during the debate someone on Biden's staff purposely exposed him to the virus (now this is very likely, knowing how Trump operates). Basically, blaming others/distract/deflect for one's own mistakes.

Yes, I'm bored and just enjoying a cup of coffee.

Ashamed to be English since 23rd June 2016 when England voted for racism & economic suicide.

Disgusted that the UK is “governed” by a squalid bunch of economically illiterate, self-serving, sleazy and corrupt neo-fascists.

Some excellent theories posed here, especially interesting IMHO are 5, 7, 8 and 9! Nothing is off the table with Trump. Nothing! The situation right now is fluid to say the least. Starting to think US national politics is 100% fake because it's all drama, nothing more! Oh right, we did elect a showman, reality TV star.

Tong in cheek:

So hopefully through the next debate (I assume will be help via video link) they will require Trump to wear a face mask in which the moderators have installed a sock.

Each time he shoots his mouth off someone just pushes a button and shoves the sock in his mouth!

The US is directly responsible for hundred of thousands of refuges yearly. US direct or indirect involvement in wars, armed conflicts, boycotts, sanctions etc.
YET just announced today << U.S. caps refugees at 15,000 for 2021, a record low since modern resettlement program began in 1980>>.. What a pity, the richest country in the world. A GOD country. Shame.... Shame on the US.

Anyone else waiting for the last minute desperate promises by Trump to get re-elected??
Figuring the way out there promises will start Friday and continue thru next week. Fox News will (of course) claim these promises are more then feasible and won't negatively effect the Nation's Deficit / Debt.

Just as a reference, so you don't buy it hook line and sinker (some still do, amazingly).

The question really needs to be asked of Trump - if he isn't even responsible enough to take care of his own personal health, how can he be considered responsible enough to run a country?

There are even some at State TV who are getting a little exasperated at the White Supremacist Apologist-in-Chief:
And also a little exasperated about masks:

Not that it should be required, but if you ever doubted the depths of Trump's lying and bullshiit, take a look at this withering compilation of his crap over the years.

And yet, some on here, and many in the US, still subscribe to his cult. :D

All of this is probably true, but stooping to using CNN as a source is bad form. Doesn't the NY Times, LA Times, the Kingston Whig-Standard. or the Washington Times have a compilation of the man's numerous foibles? At least with those fairly credible rags, one does not have to groan and ignore the evidence.

".....probably true....."

Are you suggesting that CNN has manipulated the video, Uncle? The content seems pretty self-evidently true to me.

Groan away if you wish.

Just imagine if it was Biden, not Trump, who caught COVID. We'd see Trump gloating about his own health and he'd make a fuss about Biden needing to drop out. Probably something like, "the guy is really sick!"

That's exactly what we would be seeing and hearing from him. How many idiotic comments has he made about Biden wearing a mask? And maybe I missed it, if I did I apologize, but has the POTUS said anything better than, "it is what it is", about the now 200,000+ COVID 19 related deaths here in the United States?

New Theory regarding Biden. Boy oh Boy this is a doozy

This is interesting, hmm...
Joe Biden has a medical device implanted in his skull.
It’s called the Esteem Hearing Implant which you can learn about HERE. It’s an implant that goes into the skull above the ear and it has two micro-wire probes that are injected into the nerves inside the ear canal. It’s FDA-approved and it uses bone conduction to enhance hearing (sound waves vibrate off the bones of the skull, and the wire probes send the signal directly into the ear, basically). It’s wireless and it’s controlled by the push of a button, so the user can turn it on and off with a little device… that fits in your pocket.
And that’s how the experts at Bombards Body Language spotted this trick. Joe Biden gets really addled during unscripted, public appearances and interviews. It happened during the CNN Town Hall recently. When someone starts talking to Joe Biden, there are times when he gets that “addled old man” expression of sheer terror and confusion on his face. He’s totally lost and doesn’t have a clue where he is or what’s happening.
But then – every single time – Joe Biden does what he’s been trained to do in these situations. His right hand goes into his pocket. Then he smiles that big Joe Biden politician smile that we all recognize after 47 years of this guy being in office. Then he answers the question.
When Joe Biden gets confused, he reaches into his pocket and turns on the implant. Whoever is talking to him on the other end instructs him to smile and then starts relaying answers to him until he gets back on track. Joe hears it because the implant receives a wireless signal and vibrates the bones in his skull.
The body language experts have also noticed that whenever Biden is receiving instructions through the implant, he cannot make eye contact with the person asking him a question. This is a natural response. Even a young, healthy and spry young mind like Donald Trump’s cannot receive communication input from two sources at once. Joe Biden has to look away from the speaker in order to listen to his handlers, which is why he always looks down when he’s being asked a question. He’s not thinking or listening intently; he’s receiving instructions from his handlers on which set of talking points to rattle off.
Now we know. And now you know what to watch for during the debates. If Joe Biden looks terrorized and completely lost and confused, he’ll reach into his pocket to turn on his skull implant and then he’ll smile. Every time. We also know why Joe Biden completely vanished from the campaign trail during July. He wasn’t just hiding in his basement. He was getting his implant installed and recovering from surgery.
