New Case Numbers down to 13, 21 & 12 over the last three days. Down to max 6 in WA and Zero in SA, Vic and Tas.
Time to take the handbrake off the Country
I bet the Country opens back up (internally) for business early next week, about the same time as NZ.
Now if we can just keep the Virus grubs off shore for another month or two and let those other countries get their respective houses in order, we should be OK. Australia should have shut its gates or quarantined those returning to seek a safe haven, much earlier than it did.
and we would have been a lot better of, for it and in all likely hood saved quite a number of the deaths.
With 64% of the total recorded cases being confirmed as "acquired overseas", you just have to wonder why Australia didn't implement stricter border controls and immediate quarantine, for those returning for overseas. Or was it because they believed the idiots who advocated for keeping the borders open and argued that it wouldn't make a difference to close them. Well the near final numbers don't lie and that 64% of people acquired overseas, ultimately contributed to a number of the 74 deaths.
I realize it is not over yet (i.e the number of deaths) as there are still 1,816 active cases which could push up the final number of deaths, but how did we manage to keep the Death Rate down to 1.11% (Present), compared to other countries. We have old people too and we have many nursing homes???
Spain 10.4%, Italy 13.4%, France 13.2%, UK 13,6% & Belgium 14.9% Death Rates against recorded cases, and it goes on. And what Australia is less than 1 /10th of them?? It defies logic, as these are not third world/poor countries.
