Despite or more probably because of the orange The USA is still claiming top spot at 31% of the world daily death toll of confirmed cases and 36% of new daily infections, and that is even though the majority of people in the US can not get tested.

There has beeen no majority of people tested` any where in the world
USA has tested aprrox 1% of its population
but the 2.6m tested that are negative go back into the pack and will need retesting
over and over till the virus is gone

UK has continued "lockdown" for another 3 weeks.

UK govt spokesperson (Demonic Raab) said the reason for the continuation was to save lives & to save the Economy
when questioned he said opening up too soon would risk a second "Peak" which would be catastrophic for the economy

It immensely sad to see that The orange (who has clearly stated the it will not organise the “country” that it is supposed to lead), has allowed by its inaction another tremendously bad situation. New York has a death toll that is double any other country (apart from San Marino) at 837 per million and New Jersey is also higher than any other country (with the same exception) while a little over half the NY figure.

It is absolutely clear that the New York death toll could have been reduced if there was a real UNITED States government not the deadliest farce that is there.

Article 26 should apply but nobody is going down that road so the body count will continue at a pace that should have been stoped.

Some of the countries which have done 'well' are now catching up. Japan has seen cases and deaths rise this month, and hospitals are filling up. japan has done very few tests, size of the problem? Sweden the European 'we do not need a lockdown' poster boy now has a death rate equal to 70% of the UK. Equador with a mere 421 deaths and hardly any tests, was shocked to find that the excess mortality in the last 6 weeks has risen about 12,000. No tests, no reported Covid deaths; so the REAL Covid-19 death toll should actually probably be 30 times higher. How many deaths are being missed elsewhere?

We will not know how many died until the pandemic is over, and we will need to estimate it by looking at the excess mortality compared with an average year. The current 150,000 deaths is probably under half of the real death toll. It WILL be in the millions by the end of the year. And remember it probably has infected only a couple of percent of the world population so far. It could kill more than Spanish Flu, to early to tell.

Spanish flu was very mild during its first "peak" (1917), it was not until its 1918 re emergence that it caused so may deaths ......... lets hope CV19 is not given a chance to return in the autumn

Both New York and New Jersey have a higher death toll than any country apart from the tiny San Marino and it is possible that New York at 975 per million may even overtake it

The US is maintaining its over 30% of both cases and deaths.

The less bad news is that the speed of increase is slowing

Corona virus is apparently very dangerous to obese people.
USA has the highest rate of obesity in the world.
Haven't seen this question asked,
But, is that contributing to the high death rate?

Be interesting to know the statistics there?

I think that misinformed and ignorant people are at a far higher risk.

REVEALED: UK Ministers Knew Crisis Had Peaked Before Lockdown, But Panicked Anyway, since then, a number of eminent experts have emerged who are also saying the same thing we were over the duration of this crisis.

According to Heneghan’s analysis, draconian measures were not necessary, as the data clearly showed how infection rates had already halved after March 16th, already a fait accompli. The Oxford professor also explains how government experts have been ‘consistently wrong’ throughout the crisis, and even revealed how UK ministers descended into panic, and appeared to have ‘lost sight of the evidence’ – as they rushed the country into a full national quarantine even though they had access to, and were being briefed with, accurate data which showed the crisis had already peaked.

“The UK Government keeps saying it is using the best science … But it appears to be losing sight of what’s actually going on. We’ve been getting scientific advice that is consistently wrong,” said Heneghan.

“It has failed to look at all the data and understand when the peak of infections actually occurred.”

“Fifty per cent reductions in infections occurred on March 16, right when hand washing and social distancing was introduced.”

“If you go look at what’s happening in Sweden, they are holding their nerve and they haven’t had doomsday scenario. Our Government has got it completely the wrong way around.”

According one of Sweden’s leading epidemiologists, Professor Johan Giesecke, Sweden is close to achieving natural herd immunity.

As reality begins to dawn on American and the atmosphere of mass-panic and hysteria gradually wears off, citizens are now coming out in droves and demanding answers as to why the country was shut down on the basis of completely baseless and elaborate doomsday predictions being promulgated by government officials and mainstream media over the last two month. The result of Federal and State government gamble has been tens of millions of Americans forced into unemployment, with hundreds of thousands of businesses already destroyed, as well as communities across the country now fractured and broken.

It appears that ‘lockdown’ countries like the United States and the UK, had entered into a voluntary collective economic and societal suicide pact – without any exit strategy.

Tell that to the families of the thousands of people in the USA who have died in the last 10 days and the tens of thousands who have caught the virus badly enough to get tested

Just open up everything and you can go from having only 35% of new cases in the world to 50% or 60% or 70%

In New York of confirmed cases 7.5% are corpses virtually 19,000 dead of just over 250,000 cases, tell New York they have to open for business.

Sweden population a tad over 10M, deaths over 1500 with 14,000 cases. 20 times the death rate for neighbouring Norway.

That is a success?
