Footballers refusing to take pay cuts and clubs crawling to the government for handouts to pay these greedy self centered twats .. YCMTSU . I can understand that football clubs are businesses and have a lot of back room staff in the offices etc .. but for the players to whinge is just pathetic .. take a cut , help or fook off n get a real job.

Now I know why I dislike Football as it is played in the so-called leagues. Overpaid and certainly not at all thinking about anyone else but their own selves. Clubs complaining see new contracts stating if no game no pay apart from a low basic. No way should Government money be paid to ANY Football club to maintain its players or staff except to ensure the site remains viable /rent etc. There already is the Govt scheme to pay people not getting money because factories shops shut, they are in that category .
No pay cut , no support, the argument that the Tax-payer will lose out because of less income Tax being paid by these people is pure BS in my book, no pay cut the Players can support the clubs with their enormous pay .

KP its no good them taking a pay cut as all that does is put more money in the pockets of Glaziers/ashley etc etc

Players in the bigger scheme of things do not appear to be the smartest kids on the block, and have Gordon (fill my boots) Taylor in charge of PF assoc (no help likely there then) so need to be vary careful how they proceed.
That said stories are surfacing that some players are "doing their bit" (Danny Rose 130k to Red Cross/NHS ) Gary Lineker 2 months salary etc etc

Looking like the UK 2019/20 footy season across all leagues is gonna be cancelled with an announcement due anytime , its the only responsible way to go...could lead to all sorts of bother with law suits ref TV rights dosh , players contracts the list is endless.
Many small clubs like Grimsby Town , Everton could go under , Scotland will be hit hardest leaving only 2 clubs in business .. so no change there then !!

Forgot to mention in the plans

Liverpool will be awared the title and Leeds n WBA promoted with no EPL clubs relegated.

Those worrying about SCUNTHORPE UTD .. they are solvent unlike many , hopefully they will survive and one day find a manager bearing mind they havent had one for months already.

So Leeds and WBA go up but nobody goes down? Strange option that no? That will make for more games in an even more crowded schedule when you add in the various cup and international games. I mean newly promoted teams like Leeds would have an even tougher time staying up...

Oh, wait...

i could see the FA cancelling the League and Carabao cups next season .. poss the FA cup but i doubt that... and even the Europa league.

If Leeds n WBA are promoted why arent the clubs in auto promotion places in L1 n 2 etc .. ??? a tadge unfair ? and then theres the relegation places to consider , whatever they decide its gonna please some n piss off others big time.

ITS ONLY A GAME

I,m a United fan and I think it would be terribly unfair for Liverpool not to be awarded the title... 25 points clear for Christ's sake !
If the season is abandoned the football authorities should undertake this plan where nobody gets relegated.
So as the EPL stands at the moment...
Liverpool Champions
Teams 1-4 Champions League... Man City ??
Teams 5-7 Europa League
Nobody relegated but WBA and Leeds promoted to bring the teams temporarily up to 22...4 teams to be relegated for the next two seasons with only 3 being promoted from the Championship.

They could do similar in the Football League with no teams relegated and no play offs.
Sadly I think a few teams in the Football League will go bump having no income, so some of the wealthier clubs in the Conference could be invited back dependant on current league position.
I think this post covered it DM....
Top 2 from the Championship promoted, no teams relegated from EPL....so 22 teams when the new EPL season starts.
Do the same promoting the top teams in Leagues 1 and 2 with no relegations as numbers of teams will be the same.
In Scotland only Celtic and Rangers sure to survive and Fort William promoted to Scottish Premiership. :D
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Norman "break yer legs" Hunter .. from an era when footballers were rock hard n took no prisoners , no tatts , no rolling about pretending to be injured , no swan dives and didnt cry if broke a nail or got mud in his hair .. ---- salary not money oriented unlike to puffs n pansies nowadays ..

Hope he makes a speedy recovery

Yes, he was in the squad which won the 1966 World Cup, but didn’t play a game
