PEA Meter Deposit Refund

Post by semperfiguy » March 25, 2020, 2:32 pm

I'm surprised no one has posted on this. The Provincial Electric Authority has begun today to refund average deposits of 2000-4000 Baht on electric meters to some 22 million customers totalling over 20 Billion Baht. I went to the website this morning to apply, and of course the site is not working. I told my wife one week ago this would happen. She said the authorities expected it to crash and for us not to worry. We can always apply later. Right....maybe it will be up and running in 6 months.

I got my electric bill this morning and their is NO mention of the 3% discount that we were promised because of the Covid-19 disaster.

Colossians 2:8-10...See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. For in HIM dwells all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily; and you are complete in HIM, who is the head of all principality and power.

They process 100,000 customers a day, 22,000,000= 220 days before the last one is processed, in 3 months they cancel the program, back to normal

The PEA phone app cratering this morning along with outages on BB and KB phone apps and their ATM's got more than a few of the usual suspects's panties in a bunch.

Missus just registered this morning one of our meter numbers on the PEA app including bank details and was informed immediately that there is a 5000 baht rebate, to commence payments from 1st April onwards.

Last night SWMBO was registering, though as 1 meter is registered to the now deceased Grand mum we are not sure to get that one, we should get 2,000฿ each for the 15/45 meters and 5,000฿ For our 30/100

So a few months with nothing extra to pay.

Now for AIS and TOT

you guys do realise i take it , that once the refund is paid to you , for all intensive purposes the meter is yours .
Which means if it goes a bit wonky , or gets damaged in any way , YOU will be responsible for any costs related to fixing or changing it in the future .
Now i know its very unlikely for faults or damage to happen , but never say never .

The meter doesn’t belong to you. It is still PEA property.

Your information is coming from where exactly?

Please post the exact source. Or is it speculation?

Of course its still PEA property , i never said it wasnt .
I cannot be arsed to dance to your tune , so i suggest you contact PEA and ask them , which for your own piece of mind will eradicate any doubt about speculation .

So it’s just total speculation and fear mongering.

Trying to downplay the good gesture that the PEA is making to assist people when they need help.

Contacted PEA, apparently you are wrong.
It’s just a type of good will action by them for the Carona problem.
Have so far via the app got 2 meters logged for 10,000 bht, 1 meter yo go and think it will be about 3000.

It seems that the amounts they are releasing could be higher than the website says.

The website information is
5/15 300 Baht
15/30 2,000 Baht
30/100 4,000 Baht

But like you our 30/100 is showing at 5,000 to be returned.

Hey Barney
When you say via the app do you mean the link that then opens a web page?
I’m failing miserably at the moment, copy & pasting details from the app which just comes up with an error saying account name is wrong :-k

Don’t know.
Missus does that stuff. I’m not like a lot of guys here and don’t pay any bills myself. Woman’s work. Image
But the PEA app she put the meter details into was all in Thai.
I will check for you and post later.

Cheers, I can’t find anywhere in the app itself, just a link in a scrolling banner at the top which takes me to a webpage. It’s all in Thai, but like I say frustratingly copy & pasting the Thai text from the app just returns errors

I learnt something, she does not have an app.
She only googled PEA and a few possessions blue sites popped up some indicating the payment site. She ended up with the one in the photo.
Just add personal details and the next page comes up.
The site at present is showing cannot do as busy I assume.
It may not but hope this helps, ????

Thanks for your time looking at this Barney
Unfortunately that’s the page that opens from the scrolling banner in the app & it doesn’t recognise the account name associated with the meter number even though it’s a copy & paste.

Looks like a trip to a PEA office is called for. Not looking forward to that, we passed the new one next to Big C earlier & they were queuing halfway across the car park

Looks like our PEA refund payments are being deposited.
Missus received a 5,000 bht deposit this morning.
2 more meters to go. She had applied for another 5000 and a 2000 refund.
Like all Thais she’s happy to see what she see’s as free money in her account.

In the same boat as you.
The first deposit has been paid yesterday (That had a name change in the account), the next one that everything is perfect is still waiting, and the last one, that is in the name of SWMBO’s deceased grandmother so not so certain, is still waiting.

Also BIL may have been paid the 5,000 small business support, he needs to go to the bank to check as has no ATM or online banking.
