Got most covered there glait ... "It was Trump's fault" ..... not many would even try to argue against that
"It was an Iranian missile" ......... as they have admitted it that's a given
"Had to be a massive engine explosion" .... most engines would tend to suffer a massive explosion when hit by a missile
"Boeing aircraft are no good" ......... recent history would tend to back up your statement

tam/Earn ......... I remember visiting Elgin once for a Ice Hockey match :-k

Boeing aircraft are no good?

OK.

I worked on Boeing helicopters for a number of years and found them good to maintain. Quite reliable too.

Did the missile hit the engine or explode under the cockpit?

I'm not sure but I read below it exploded under the cockpit.

They play ice hockey in Elgin?

I didn't know that.

Oh my giddy aunt, the British ambassador has upset the Iranians through attending a vigil for the shot down plane.

I didn't know that either but I lived there way back when we still had to put shillings in the gas meter for light, the dunny was at the bottom of the garden and before our neighbour Mrs Morrison's son Sammy who was a few shillings short of a gas meter himself was arrested for buggering my sisters pet rabbits.

Ya couldn't make this ----- up if you tried - but wait, Veterans Today just did.

I googled the following passage from the linked article, eager to discover who the "Iranian sources" were:
Iranian sources have revealed that the pre-flight inspection checklist was not signed by Iranian airport engineers, however, the Ukrainian crew insisted on flying at their own risk and responsibility.
Dr google only throws it up in one other source - funnily enough, one probably even more nutty than Veterans Today.

https://southfront.org/how-and-why-iran ... an-boeing/

And what does this cesspit of disinformation and conspiracy theories have to say (my emphasis added):
It remains unclear how the Boeing 737-800 may have been mistaken for an incoming cruise missile, especially taking into account that this situation developed near the capital’s working airport. If one takes this explanation with a grain of salt, the scenario could have been the following.

The plane experienced some technical difficulties during or immediately after the take-off and deviated from the course moving closer to the IRGC military site. Information appeared that the preflight inspection checklist was not signed by Iranian airport engineers, but the Ukrainian side insisted to fly at its own risk and responsibility.
:D
