May just be a couple of lumps of concrete , but its going to put little old backwater Udon on the tourist map .
The last tourist attraction to grace out fair city was a couple of inflatable ducks i believe .
So not only is the bridge tunnel combination far bigger than even the biggest of the ducks , its also practical , and will ease the journey of millions of tourists flocking in to see the ducks .

Sadly I have to inform you saint that one of the medium sized ducks has succumbed to Udonitus (brought about by total boredom at Nong Prajak) and was taken away to the funny farm in the back of a 3 ton truck. He was last seen passing Udon Christian Fellowship School last Friday at approx 15:30. Witnesses described him as being "completely quackers"

PS I was accompanied by 10 (TEN) motorcyclists for my trip through the tunnel this morning all of whom obviously could not understand the meaning of any of the three signs showing a motorbike with a line through it that they had just ridden past

Went to Tesco today expected the overpass to be open, Boy was I wrong. So When? Traffic toward NK seemed to be moving ok around noon.

So when do we get the Drone footage over this area?

Only had 5 motorbikes come with me through the tunnel this evening so I think a special mention (and medal) should be given to our wonderful BIB who in the space of only a few hours managed to reduce the number of illegals using the tunnel by 50% .......... Dont tell Trump :-$

Tragic news indeed . One can only hope he or she can make a speedy recovery and return to Nong Prajak before our tourist industry suffers too much , and we have to resort to visitors from the sub continent spending i miserly 10,000 a day .
I will have to ask my Mum if i can go out at the weekend to see the remaining ducks for myself .
They must be getting lonely without their friend .

Calling the Udon underpass a tunnel is a bit of an exaggeration IMHO. It's too short for starters and it's a straight shot too. Underpass is much more aligned with the 'bridge' which we all agree is an overpass.

I think we should re-think our whole nomenclature moving forward and the ring-road, all east west and southern bits, should simply be called the Udon bypass.

Not to be confused with history of course.

(still a slow news day)

The overpass, it seems, is still not open. What's the hold up?

Last week they were still hanging the drainage pipework on the undersides. Who knows if the light poles are hooked up yet.

But we already have a bypass tam :-k

It runs from Big "C" as far as UD centre hang a right and head North until you get to the ring road, I think it's called the "Ringroad traffic lights bypass"
