OK boomer

I'm enjoying the "OK boomer" line we are increasingly hearing or reading in public discourse.

I am personally offended that a Kiwi sheila has culturally appropriated the Australian national animal for her own ageist agenda.

FMD - where will this all end?

For your information,
"OK boomer is a viral internet slang phrase used, often in a humorous or ironic manner, to call out or dismiss out-of-touch or close-minded opinions associated with the baby boomer generation and older people more generally"..... Never heard of it!

I'm enjoying it too!

After all the names millennials have had thrown at them for the last few years (entitled, lazy, needy, luvvies, fluffies, crybabies, snowflakes etc.) I think they're showing a real restraint by limiting it to 'OK boomer'!

It's not like the boomer generation listened intently when their parents told horror stories about the great depression or WW II or how we kids had it so good compared to when our parents were kids. OK Boomer is what young people do, no matter the generation. It's just a succinct way of letting the older folks know they might be out of touch with the younger folks. There's no need to get into a long discussion about why landlines are still essential or why I can't use my mobile phone whenever I want to or when I was a youngster everyone read newspapers that were printed on paper sort of discussions.
Short, sweet, to the point

I'm still struggling to understand the fact that they only seem to refer to "guys" when I'm sure they meant "Guys AND GIRLS"

and also the fact that a plural of just about anything is referred to as a "BUNCH" its like they have never got round to learning the English language

a "BUNCH" of flowers is OK
a "BUNCH" of people waiting on the line is just plain stupidity ... don't they know how to use "grammar check" when they write their scripts

I was one of the very early boomers. My 1963 graduating class had more than twice as many students as the previous graduating class. I really don't care what the spoiled kids of today call us. I won't be alive to see what happens to the country when the voters elect "progressives" and the government turns the country green. There will come a time when the voters will see the disaster they have created.

Stick and stones I guess.

I can remember dear old granny spratt telling a young, pre-pubescent jack, that "my eyes were bigger than my belly".

A few years later that became "my balls were bigger than my brain".

I take our daughter's 100lb german shepherd for a walk in different neighborhoods each morning. I spotted this in a driveway today.......definitely boomer material. We've been in Texas for a bit over a month......can't say I've spotted a scene like this on more than a handful of occasions. That said, I probably say to either my wife or daughter everyday, "I read it in the paper" even though I didn't. I still say dial the phone even though I never do anymore. Times change!

You'll see it every Sunday morning in my driveway, if you happen by before 630am when I go out and get it.

I will refrain from the obvious retort about your tiny nuts Jacky boy, but you did open yourself up for that :-" :-" :D
