We aborted a trip into town yesturday lunchtime , when the heavens opened and you couldnt see further than 20 meters .
Arrived back home to find two 35 plus foot trees leaning perilously towards the house , the ground so saturated over the last few days , the strong winds just pushing them over .
The wife went to the local tesabans office , and gotta say i was impressed with the results .
Within an hour 6 guys turned up with chain saws , a tipper , ropes , and a cherry picker , and had them cut down safely within a couple of more hours , and they are now in pieces on my front lawn waiting for the local charcoal man to come and collect the remains .
Asked the head man who also attended , the cost , just a case of beer for the boys .
So , all you doubters and cynics out there who think Thailand has had its day , i say where would you get that service ?
In the U K it would take weeks just to get a permit , by which time i would of been looking at a huge roof repair .
