"Arsenal's managing director Vinai Venkatesham has confirmed the club will look to sell any player entering the final two years of his contract should he not wish to renew.

That will have implications for the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil, who both see their deals expire in 2021.

“When we are selling players we need to maximise the funds we get to reinvest in the team,” Venkatesham told the club’s website. “We need to be really disciplined when we are dealing with senior players who are not towards the end of their careers.

“So that means we have to start making the difficult decisions when they have two years left on the contracts. We’re either going to renew those contracts or we’re going to be selling them.

“We’re going to have to be brave in those decisions because we can’t be in a situation where we’re allowing players to walk out of the door for free unless they are coming towards the end of their careers.”

hmmmmm Barn doors and horses spring to mind =;

I understand MOTD came to the conclusion that Kompany's goal v Leicester was thought Goal of the Season and not Andros Townsend's for Palace against City. Did they focus on the skill involved, or just the significance for City and Kompany? Ian Wright on BEIN sports and Carling, I understand, voted Townsend.

I guess the argument would be that "one trick pony" is supposed score those type of goals ...... its what he gets paid a fortune to do whereas Kompany's primary job is to keep it out of the city net..
plus if Wrighty (who usually gets everything wrong) said Townsend then Kompany's must have been better.

Fabin Schar v's Cardiff was miles better (never been a fan of these 1 in 100 goals as 99 end up in row Z first) .... mind you Schar did unleash a 25yd screamer v Burnley as well

Everton are the first club in 71 years to keep a clean sheet at home against United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal
and just how many of those SEVENTY ONE years has that been actually possible ? ie: United Liverpool Chelsea and Gooners all been in the same league ...... I'm sure you are perfectly aware that for about 10 of those years Liverpool were in Divi 2 [-X and both Man Utd & Chelsea have been out of the top flight along with virtually everyone else

From Sky

"13:50

CONTE WINS CHELSEA BATTLE

Antonio Conte has reportedly won his legal battle with former club Chelsea over his sacking last July.

According to The Times, the Blues have been ordered to pay their former manager £9m in compensation."

Eden Hazards price has just risen me thinks

Townsend has had several quality goals/finishes this season. I trust Ian Wright, from history alone, to judge a great goal. Some of the BBC summaries make me wonder if I've watched the same match. A volley - so much more difficult than striking off the grass. The Carling decision was reached by tallying votes of 'experts' and fans.

No,you have to say congratulations to Everton for this amazing achievement however, for balance, our friend from Nong Khai should really include the results against the other 3 top 7 teams.
Here they are....
Spurs (h) lost 2-6
Man City (h) lost 0-2
Wolves (h) lost 1-3
Puts things in prespective,a little bit, dont you think ? :badteeth:
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Looks like they have had enough of Prickford then :-$

BREAKING NEWS

Everton have confirmed that Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl will join the club on July 1, signing a three-year contract until the end of June 2022.

The 30-year-old Denmark international will sign for the Toffees when his contract with Huddersfield expires at the end of the month.

Lossl made 31 Premier League appearances for the Terriers during the 2018/19 season, having joined the Yorkshire club on loan from German side Mainz 05 the previous campaign.

No. Statts started this particular commentary on the BREAKING NEWS about the ex-Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lössl coming to give a masterclass in mature and stylish goalkeeping at Goodison Park.

You're waving that small blue cock again aren't you?

I mean Lössl's a lot taller than Pickford isn't he? He doesn't need to run about, flapping and waving his arms and trying to make himself look bigger than he is.
