From the ABC website:

"McGuire also paid tribute to the show's long-term co-host Newman, who attracted controversy for various comments that sparked accusations of racism, sexism and homophobia.

"Sam Newman should be in the TV hall of fame, whether or not they do that's up to them, but there's no doubt that Sam Newman is one of the most influential people in the history of media," McGuire said."

McGuire is sounding a bit like Trump.

I don't think Newman will be ready yet for an old folks home.

Yet more biffo in the stands at the MCG.

I suppose Carlton and Collingwood have more than their fair share of drongo supporters. Before anyone gets too excited, I'm not saying they're all drongos.

Carlton sitting on the bottom again. 8)

Free kick Collingwood - 23 to 8. Reckon there may have been a few Carlton supporters with a few Carlton Drafts under the belt a bit peeved with the result and the role played by the umps. Then you have the wobble supporters get stuck into them on the way out. Always going to happen when supporters segregated and separated. Hope we never get to that.

You overlooked stirring up RD. A bad loss for Essendon. Collingwood are looking good.

No point stirring RD. Dogs and Lions making up the number at best on current form. Dogs going to Kardinia Park this weekend so that will sort out the boys from the men one way or the other. I think so far this season every time Essendon have played rubbish the Scray have won and vice versa. Funny game.

Well done marjamlew.Strong third quarter.
A nice game from Hugh McCluggae has me excited, but that's about it from that one.
Pretty scrappy affair.
Doggies still alive for finals but going to be a tough one this week at the cattery.
On current form I think The Lions will hold fast against Adelaide but it won't be easy.
Bombers were robbed in my opinion. That goal post shaking was just not cricket!

If the Lions can beat a team such as Adelaide, then the Lions deserve to make the eight.

I expect Carlton to get spanked by the Giants this weekend.

Yet another post on Australia's principal football code from a foreigner:

I'm pleased the Eagles beat the Demons. That's probably it for the season for the Demons. I think I recall correctly some drongos thought they might win the whole shebang this season.

Essendon need to win today; a Bulldogs win seems unlikely and the Lions - Adelaide game might be the game of the day.

Sunday afternoon MCG - a grudge game for this poster: Essendon against Carlton. It would be shameful to lose this one.

Oh hang on. Essendon reeks of shame so a loss here won't be adding much. :(

Bombers should towel those blokes up.
The Lions got a bit of help last night.
Not sure what they are chanting however?

The blues are really hopeless. Only 33points and Essendon isn't a top 8 side. \:D/

Kane Cornes said if things go right for the Lions, they are capable of winning the premiership this year. :-k

Brendan Bolton by all accounts is an honest felllow who shows true care and support for his players and staff, however sometimes things just don't work.
He is finished at Lygon Street if Brisbane can put them to the sword next week.

Lions capable of winning the 19 premiership is a big call.
We need to learn how to kick straight before we become a flag contender, but it will be nice to play finals and bump a few of the others around.

Bulldogs look lost.Missing some experience has really knocked them.
A week off and a game against Carlton may be the medicine they need to get the mojo working.
Geelong looking classy and are the true contender for the flag for my money.

Every ***** sacks their coach the week before they play the dogs. Gotta be something in it.

We beat you to it this week.
That performance by Brisbane was terrible. How do you manage to throw away a forty point lead to the bottom side and end up getting beaten by two goals?
Makes me want to yell "Green Maggot" "Dog" "P**f"

That was a shocker. I shouldn't have posted about Kane Cornes's comment.
