Member of Obama Team says Sanders can't beat Trump

Source: ABC News

"Can Bernie Sanders beat Donald Trump?"

Messina swiftly replied: "No."
I think if you look at swing voters in this country, they are incredibly focused on the economy. You and I have had this discussion before. The winner of the economic argument in the last five presidential elections with swing voters has won the presidency.

And I think, today, you look at it and say that Bernie Sanders is unlikely going to be able to stand up to the constant barrage that is Donald Trump on economic issues like that.

Now that said, you know, there are other folks, other friends of mine, who believe very differently and that believe that Senator Sanders can excite a new population of people and get new voters out.

There's this big fight in my party about, do you excite the base and jack up turnout? Or do you nominate a more mainstream candidate, moderate candidate, and get the swing voters? The three Democrats who have won the presidency in my lifetime – Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama – have been able to do both. And to win a presidential election against Donald Trump, you have to do both. You have to excite your base and turn out people, and you have to win swing voters. And we are going to look for a nominee who can do both.

Today, you would say in a general election context, Bernie Sanders wouldn't be that candidate.
Socialism is a loser vs Free Enterprise and Individual Liberty.

"Britain First" is Working for Workers!

Source: Minister of State Report

Before the Brexit vote in 2016, almost half of all jobs in the UK were going to EU migrants. Today, 90% of jobs are going to Brits. Other estimates reported by The Telegraph show that only 5% are going to EU migrants. In addition, UK unemployment has fallen to a 45-year low.

Alok Sharma, Minister of State for Employment:
Since the referendum there have been over one million more people in work in the UK, up to a record 32.7 million in February 2019.

Employers are clearly already adjusting to lower immigration from the EU, and it is UK workers who have filled in the gaps – accounting for around nine in ten of new people in work since 2016, compared to half of the people entering work in the two years before.
However, the good numbers for Brits do not reflect the impact of non-EU migrants.

All of the Cheerleaders for UK Failure were in hysterics over what they predicted would be the destruction of the UK economy if leaving the EU. Instead, the UK has enjoyed a wave of good economic news. The predictions have not come true.

Sharma:
When we leave the EU, and end the freedom of movement of EU workers, far from presenting a challenge to fill vacancies – employers should seize an opportunity… It’s UK workers who have driven this record jobs market, and UK workers who can help maintain it.
Just like in the US, the UK is enjoying a time where the greatest number of people ever in UK history are employed. And just like in the US, the UK has had stronger wage growth at 3.5% -- with earnings outpacing inflation. Two other benefits are that the greatest gains have been for workers on the low end of the pay scale, AND the number of low-end jobs are at their lowest levels in over 20 years.

Sharma:
The UK jobs market continues to go from strength to strength, proving the underlying resilience of the British economy. But we must not take this for granted. We need to work urgently to get behind a Brexit deal that protects this jobs record and gives employers the certainty to continue to invest in their workforce and boost wages.
I have full confidence that the UK will continue to have great economic results once they regain their autonomy and sovereignty and break from the EU.

Cory Booker had the opportunity to be Son of Obama. He's just as big a liar and just as lawless, but he's not so smart.

Even when Ozombies and the Black Thug Mob and the BLM Marxists and the NAACP get rid of all things that remind them of slavery (even though none of them were slaves), they will still keep reminding us all (who never owned slaves) about the slavery that they never experienced.

The excuses for the failure of socialism are always the same. Not enough money. Not the right people in charge. Not given enough time. Not done the right way.

Yet, with all this insight after the multiple failures, they still can't get it right.

The Real Clear Politics Poll Average is out on Democrats.

They're all pretty much socialists except for Biden -- who isn't in the race yet. He is the only close-to-centrist American who is in the poll, but he's probably going to have to lurch to the Left to survive. You can count on the rest of the field to pile on to keep him out, or get him out once he gets in.

There is Donald and his Gang of Idiots not realizing the downfall of his actions
Thailand is suffering due the USA China trade dispute and I can imagine many other countries also that supply China with material

I was willing to give Donny a fair start but as we can see he aint fairing too well

Thailand's economic growth is expected to slow this year due to rising global trade tensions and domestic political uncertainty, Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said on Wednesday. The US-China trade dispute has had a big impact on Thailand's trade-dependent economy, while the still unclear domestic situation has kept investors away, Mr Somkid told reporters.

"Trump lifts tariffs on Mexico, Canada, delays auto tariffs"

OOpps went one way then saw the outcome(items more expensive, profits down, people ready to lose their jobs, an example is John Deere) so we will go back to the way we were

The Orange conman still doesn't know how tariffs work and it's hilarious watching his cronies tie themselves in knots to try make sense of his completely ignorant and incoherent rhetoric.

The term MOU can't be used anymore in the White House because as his own trade advisor explained what it meant the sham POTUS contradicted him in front of cameras and the Chinese trade rep. In the oval office.

You couldn't make it.

ed. The Chinese trade representative laughed audibly as the man who lost over a billion dollars in 10 years but is now POTUS showed he didn't understand basic international trade terms.

Lone Star or whatever bot has been redirected to the EU elections.

It'll be back soon, claiming to have been back in the States if questioned on it.

Yeah right Kremlin bot.

If we are to resurrect this thread, then do so properly. Don't make it all about the member that wrecked it in the first place... and no, you don't bloody miss him.

As Bamber Gascoigne used to say, "Now here's your starter for ten..."

WRT to the movement for impeachment,

"Rep. Jerry Nadler: We’re ‘probably’ not headed for impeachment, but Trump is making it ‘increasingly difficult’ to avoid"

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/15/jerry-n ... avoid.html

The Democrats caught in their own Catch-22. Avoid the very public admission of, "Yeah, we're Americans and we f*cked this one up real good" that a presidential impeachment suggests to the world or go for broke and move to impeach but risk having it tossed out by the Senate thus making DJT even harder to control after an undeniably likely re-election.

In an interview a few months back, Pelosi was publicly against impeachment, probably for the primary reason above... American face. But if she can't get behind it, then impeachment will be doomed to failure. However, Nancy didn't get to be House Speaker by not being a wiley old coot and maybe she's quietly practicing that age-old mantra of giving someone enough rope.

Yes, DJT may indeed be very impulsive, very willful and very ignorant but the Democrats are still their own worst enemy.
