Very open season RD. No real standouts for mine but I guess WC, Richmond, GWS, Adelaide and Melbourne (and probably Collingwood but I didn't say that) are amongst the favourites. I just want to see the Dogs play tough and go hard and if that is the case we'll win our share but not sure we'll get the 13 or 14 needed for Sept. Exciting times for the Lions and would be good to see a new face up the top as it would be good to see Hawthorn, Geelong and Sydney have a bit if a rest. I'll tip Adelaide to win the GF beating Collingwood by a point with an after the siren goal. Dog's on Saturday night with their Chris Hemsworth inspired jumper. Go the Thor - dogs.

The sad end of the ladder is always great fun too. It's been awesome seeing the Blues floundering away down there this century. I understand they're being talked up a bit for this season and aren't expected to repeat their dismal successes in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2015 and 2018. Lucky me - I started following the AFL in 1998!

The big end of season wrestle for the bottom places in the eight is also great fun. I expect Essendon to be in that wrestle in 2019; hopefully the Bulldogs will be in there too.

That's a big ask. I think Sydney house prices are more likely to start rising in the next three months than Brisbane win this one.

RD and Lew got winners this weekend. Good to win one. GT, how are the bombers going to go up in sin city ( Berejiklian land) today?
Must be ecstatic with the performance of the Lions RD. Great momentum going forward.
Dogs looked like they were going to put on a show and then all of a sudden it was like a few of our blokes had been shot. Can't complain with a win but when you are 40 points up and cruising you should go on with it.

GO LIONS!
It's been seven years since we beat those blokes!
A really needed victory for the young Lions.Next week @ Marvel V shineboners will really define the season if they can get up.

Sydney house prices down!!

Great win for the doggies Lew....on that performance you should be confident you have a side that will play finals footy this year.
Still think it would have looked better if they would have worn these guernseys....not sure about the size of the shorts however.

Yes, well done to the Lions and Bulldogs.

I see Essendon is currently at the bottom of the table although Carlton was on Thursday night.

I was at that game in 1978. Golden age of suburban footy. Gotta love those 1970s shorts.

Think the bombers might have played the early flag favourites on that performance. The plastics were awesome. Big game for the Dons against St Kilda this week. Wouldn't want to drop that one GT.

Dogs and Lions on fire RD. Dons and Blues better this week but no cigar as yet. Dogs played their best footy for 3 seasons today. Coach has offloaded those who wouldn't play by his rules - Stringer, Dalhaus and Roughhead and shown faith in those he believes in. Looks like it may pay dividends.
Great win away from home from the lions too. Not easy to beat North at home at any time.
Happy days Dogs and Lions.

Still happy days for the Lions.

Good wins also for Essendon, the Giants, the Cats and the Eagles.

Carlton, Melbourne  and the Kangaroos still without a win.

The Dogs might be third on the ladder after today's game. Possibly second if they give the Suns a football lesson.

I think the start to this season has been really interesting.

I think Essendon will play the MCG better than The Lions this weekend, but I'm hoping Charlie Cameron will snap a last 10 second goal to snatch victory.

The Demons finally get a win and Carlton moves to second to last.

I think I might put $5 on Essendon this afternoon. Someone has to put the uppity Lions back down the ladder a bit. It would be nice to do that before Collingwood does the same thing the following week.

Dogs were a bit stiff last night but in reality we are a long way off on our performances over the last two weeks. We've play three quarters out of twelve in the last three weeks for a close win and two close losses and really need to four quarter performance to get things back on track. Losing to Pies hurts as much as ever,

The Pies might be a top 4 team this year so it's not a disaster losing to them.

Suns 59 - Blues 57. And the Blues are at the bottom of the ladder. \:D/

And the Bulldogs will wallop them next week!

Wrong again. Grumble, grumble ...

I'm very disappointed in the Bulldogs. Carlton is no longer last.

Essendon to beat Colllingwood this week.

This should be a cracker.
The old saying "The biggest men on the ground don't get any smaller" comes into play here.
At 6ft 11 Mason Cox is a good man to have on the ground.

It's a big game for the Lions this coming weekend too. I fancy their chances more than the Bulldog's. It might be bye bye to the eight for the Bulldogs this weekend.
