Ill pop down and have a beer, clear the air. I guess looking at it 'piss bored' might have been a poor choice of words but i didnt mean anything rude. Ive met max many a time and he seems like a nice bloke, as does his mrs and all the staff. Genuinely cant think of one bad thing to say about the BH. I just got bored of it for a few weeks. Dont we all get bored of going to the same place sometimes?

Anyway no worries. Just a misunderstanding I guess. No more comments from me on this thread i worry it might turn into another 10 pager lol so lets just leave it there.

Stanley out :)

Anywhere else who sells decent draft? And by decent I mean not that god awful leo or chang.
I am always surprised how so many expats detest the local beers [-X , Archa yes I agree isn't the best but Leo n Chang id say are as good as a pint of most UK stuff.

My rating on Thai beers.

1. Chang
2. Singha
3. Leo
4. Archa

Then of course there is the mother of all drinks the one and only Beer Lao ! Absolutely delicious stuff \:D/

My favourite beer available locally is Tiger, two bigun's for 105bht in Tops, when I can't get that it's a Leo. Used to enjoy a few pints in the Ud Town complex before they became a Chang only place, won''t drink that on principle, don't like being subject to a monopoly order .

Why are you surprised?
All Thai beers are served very cold ....... why? coz the taste of the stuff is horrible when its served at normal temperature (have you tried Fosters or XXXX or stella artois or any Larger unchilled ...... same reason)
Brits like to TASTE what they are drinking which is why they prefer Bitters/Milds/Porters etc which are brewed to provide the imbiber with a choice of tastes and flavours and should never be watered down with ice or over chilled.

Yup, & if the ale has bits at the bottom of the glass - even better!

Mind you, haven't had decent pint in blighty for yonks.

Hook Norton ales were ok....& a Ploughman's Lunch - or should that now be Ploughpersons...or non -binary vegan sustinance?

:D

Loads of Brits like the Thai stuff and loads like your pish water lol, i dont think you can generalise it and say all Brits like one or the other, each to thier own i guess, so just sit back and enjoy your chosen tipple ;)

I drink all sorts, always chilled regardless of taste but NEVER with ice. What is that all about?

Its handy out n the sticks with an insulated bucket to keep a chill on the beer, though you need to drink at a good pace to avoid the watery beer, we usually load few poly boxes with ice n bottles/tins for a day trip off the beaten track.
