i would appreciate some advice...many years since i have been in udon< steve used to own the irish clock!> what is the best serviced apartment or best /newest hotel within walking distance or short ride to the night market? thank you

There are now many new small hotels on soi Sampan and near nutty park in the approx. 500 baht a night range. No real need to book in advance i expect. Serviced apartments maybe further away and not familiar with those.

We usually stay at Charoen.
$30 most times ...through Agoda.
Good breakfast, easy to get a ride to night market tuk tuk.
Last time though,(June) night market food was crap and not good value as it used to be.

there does seem to be an absolute glut of condo
rooms for rent on local market. and with prices
falling , mebbe worth a look there for longterm
