https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/ ... rce-warns/‘Large swathes’ of Britain's workforce face the threat of unemployment as robots take over human jobs, the Bank of England has warned. The Bank's chief economist, Andy Haldane, claimed the UK must re-skill its workforce to avoid growing numbers of "technologically unemployed" people.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today Programme, Mr Haldane warned that a Fourth Industrial Revolution is on the way, driven by artificial intelligence.
People with manual jobs, such as those in the transportation, manufacturing and storage sectors, are most at risk of losing work as a result of AI, who will be able to undertake tasks faster and more efficiently than humans..
