Re: ASSOFI: a club for the French speaking community in Isan
Are you sure the spelling is correct, pardon my ignorance but what the hell does ASSOFI mean apart from being definitely foreign.............
Re: ASSOFI: a club for the French speaking community in Isan
Look at his avator, Paul, it has the same spelling, so it will be correct, I suppose.
Do these french people have any website or forum, where are they exactly, how can they be contacted?

Re: ASSOFI: a club for the French speaking community in Isan
Our club was formerly known as "ASSOciation Francophone-Issan" (Francophone non-profit organisation located in Issan), but there have been several changes in our structure and charter since its early days. We just kept "ASSOFI" for its new name (since September 2009). By the way, we pronounce it (more or less) like "A-SO-FEE" in French, not "Ass of I"!

Thanks again.

Not only. Our objectives are summarized in the opening post of this thread and also mentioned in French in our charter: http://www.assofi.org/doc/charte09.pdfmichaleo wrote:... As I read in the website they (or you) are mostly concerned with meetings between yourselfs, am I right?
For your information, a lunch is organised by our club in Udon Thani on April 3rd 2010 (more details in French are available here: http://assofi.org/journal/archives/310) and of course, your friend and every francophile are welcome.
One of our members wants to organise the visit of several local sites (including the Phu Foilum National Park) and I will post more details on our website soon.
