Scapular/Amulet, Take Your Pick

Post by parrot » August 24, 2022, 3:17 pm

The article describes the actions of doctors at Bangkok Hospital following an accident of a pickup truck and sewage truck along the KK highway. Lots of praise (and photos) for the doctors and staff at the hospital. Then, the final few lines of the long story tell who's the real hero of the story:

The tiger's pendant (Luang Bu Tong) that he had hung on his neck on the day of the accident was given to him by his father in April 2022. This is how the family survived the accident.

Despite living in Thailand for a quarter of a century, the savior of the this family comes across as something that Oda Mae Brown might have said........yet, when I was young and my father would head out for a long drive, he'd never think of doing so without a scapular of St Christopher hanging around his neck. Different strokes.
