Barbara Jill Walters (September 25, 1929 – December 30, 2022) was an American broadcast journalist and television personality.[1][2] Known for her interviewing ability and popularity with viewers, Walters appeared as a host of numerous television programs, including Today, The View, 20/20, and the ABC Evening News. Walters was a working journalist from 1951 until her retirement in 2015

The first female to co-anchor a prime-time, US news show, over the ensuing fifty years, she went on to become one of the most insightful and influential interviewers of the world's newsmakers. One of her later career successes was the morning prime time television show 'The View' which was another game changer for women in the media.

Right up there with the Walter Cronkite's and Tom Brokow's (who? asks statts).
