Pele passes well and he scored well too. It is too bad he is dead. I saw Pele play for Santos against the Toronto Metros at Varsity Stadium on July 5th, 1972. Santos won 4-2. I kept the programme. Two weeks later, Werder Bremer came to Varsity to face the Metros.

Very Sad,I Saw Pele play at Goodison in The World Cup in 1966,Before he got Chopped & Hacked Out of the Game against Hungary,They Did Everything to Stop Him ( Dirty Bastards ) He had to come off Injured after some AWFUL Challengers,& Brazil LOST That match 3-1....

In soccer, yes, it could be argued that he is the greatest of all time. But, there are others who played many sports (rugby, football, baseball, boxing, lacrosse, hockey) and excelled in all of them who should be considered the real GOATs.

Interesting story here - particularly the bit where the Australian coach threatened to drag the highlighted defender if he chopped Pele.
