Shane Warne RIP

Post by jackspratt » March 4, 2022, 9:28 pm

Two absolute legends on the same day - unbelievable.
Australia cricket legend and the greatest leg-spinner of all-time, Shane Warne, has died, aged 52.

Warne’s management released a brief statement in the early hours of Saturday (AEDT), that he passed away in Koh Samui, Thailand, of a suspected heart attack.

Very sad news. Big, big shock. I was only made aware of his brief history with Lancashire cricket last year. It's common knowledge that there's at least a couple of Accrington kids who never met their Aussie dad.

A bit of a surprise, old Shane passing on at 52.

A real shock. Watching Shane bowl to Tendulkar, Lara and Kallis was cricket at its best.

Rest in peace to another Aussie cricket and cricket world legend, Shane Warne. Too young to go upstairs. Absolutely gutted by this sad news.

Brilliant bowler and played in Bristol for a junior side before he made it big. Superb cricketer and entertainer. RIP

Morrison says Warnie will get a state funeral.

Respect.

RIP Warnie. He has died young and the Saints never won the premiership in his lifetime.

The Victorian Govt. has offered the Warne family a state funeral so which Govt. WA or SA is going to do the same for Rods family?
Equally deserved in my view.
RIP to both you guys. Will always be remembered.

A genius, a legend, a rascal, a showman, an entertainer, the first man to 600 and 700 Test wickets, the greatest leg spinner to ever live. All of these things describe Shane Warne. What a record he had, and what a legacy he leaves. Long live the Legend. 💔

You don't seem optimistic for say the next 30 years?

Warnie, at times, hung out with disreputable Victorians:

I'm not planning on any 14 day water/shake crash diets any time soon. And I've been off the darts for 8 years. Best case scenario - the scray win 3 in a row... followed by the saints getting up.

3 in a row. That's greedy.

I had been thinking Warne must have been examined and tested by heaps of doctors and scientists from various disciplines over the years and he ought to have been aware of his health issues. Judging from the reports of his dieting, he seems to have been a bit flaky on health issues.
