Covid PCR Test

Post by udonsmiles » January 25, 2021, 5:05 pm

Looks like I will be traveling back to UK soon so that means I need a PCR Covid test. Have any UM members had one of these tests here in Udon? Any recommendations/prices etc etc.
Thanks in anticipation.

Bangkok Hospital (formerly Paolo). Cost 5000 baht about 6 months ago. You can walk-in but best make an appointment. Test on first day, results and certification issued the following day. Availabel 7-days/week.

By way of comparison, I will get a test done on Friday here in Perth (Oz) prior to coming back to Thailand.

Cost A$150 = THB3500 at current exchange.

If THB5000 (x2) is the standard cost in Thailand, it makes the price of inward hotel ASQ seem so much more reasonable.

Be aware that UK is considering a compulsory quarantine system similar to Thailand for airport arrivals. If implemented, add an extra 2000 gbp to your travel costs. Pity it was 10 months to late.
