I can confirm that the Lindt Swiss Dark Chocolate with Hazelnuts at the duty free on departure at Toronto's Pearson Airport is genuine, reasonable in price and delicious.

I am planning a trip to Vietnam later this spring and i would like to bring back in my CARRY-ON backpack few jars of local jams, few jars of Pâté and possibly peanut butter. Has anyone done it ?

I can’t give direct information however all of the items you mention are classed as liquids and is there is any adherence to the rules will all be taken, they are likely to put you over on the weight limit as well.

So if you accept that they may all be taken then you can be a Guinea pig. However is the cost of the lightest check in high? Then you only have to pass through Thai customs successfully, something that is far more likely to be no problem.

FWIW high quality pure peanut butter is freely available in Thailand from Lazada and is not expensive.

The current price is about 330 but there are others at sub 300/kg prices

But do remember it is pure so will settle and if you don’t stir it the bottom will be able to be used as building blocks
