Overland Thailand - Lao - Thailand Day Trip

Post by Mosquito » July 5, 2022, 8:01 am

Has anyone made a r/t to Laos, after the recent (1 July 2022) changes?

From what I've read, seems process and requirements have returned to pre-covid regulations. With the exception of a few raised Lao visa fees, depending on your citizenship.

Anyone??

Understand current written requirements/process, but we all know written requirements/process doesn't often match actual requirements/process.

I had a look on the two other national forums and nobody's made any comment since the dropping of TP for those re-entering Thailand.

Since the restrictions were only lifted a week past Friday, maybe wait a bit for updates?

The Lao eVisa looks like a passport page-saver.

Yes, seen the 40 USD for US Passports.

Wonder how much they rip you off on baht exchange?? Remember it being 35 USD or 1500 baht.

Luckily, I have a few twenties hanging around or might just do the e-visa route (https://www.laoevisa.gov.la/index).

Guess it's either crisp twenty dollar bills or e-visa.

Oh, anyone planning on using dollars......ensure they are new denomination/bills and in good condition.

Remember a few times they wouldn't except older/worn/torn hundred and twenty dollar bills.
