Passport Renewal
Passport Renewal
Any Brits recently renewed your passport in BKK? If so how long did it take. I've been waiting 7 weeks since application....
Re: Passport Renewal
That's too slow I reckon.. I have read on TV that despite the impositions on regular office hours/work due to C-19, most are received back at VFS 3-4 weeks later.
Does the DHL tracking number you got from VFS show delivery?
Has your credit card been charged?

Re: Passport Renewal
I'm helping a friend with his going through Key Visa, Process started on the 11th Sept:
Sat in VFS for 4 weeks before being sent to Liverpool arriving 15 Oct where they took GBP 118.51 from my credit card (thought it was supposed to be GBP 106.01??)
Have had no word since, Darren from the agency is saying at least 9 weeks!

Re: Passport Renewal
Last Time I renewed 6 years ago it took 8 weeks
Re: Passport Renewal
The following from TV on a thread where the passport office dropped the ball.
Should you wish to contact HMPO at Liverpool, the email address is : [email protected] and the telephone number is + 44 (0) 300 222 0000.
Also check your email client's spam folders in case any emails from the passport office have been 'lost' that way.
There's also another thread on TV where someone using an agent (not Key Visa) reports nine week turnaround and another who did use Key Visa got it back in four weeks. Another who used DIY got notification of receipt at VFS after only four weeks but that was last August.
It is possible that something has gone down the toilet more recently (hoping it's not your passport).

Re: Passport Renewal
Apologies I should have added I’m also using Darren at Key Visa, first time I’ve used an agent, and strangely I started the process on the 11th September, Darren has told me different lengths of time for renewal from 4 weeks up to 6-7...and I guess he’s merely passing on whatever information he’s given. I was just wondering if anyone had renewed themselves and has had the process completed recently.Bandung_Dero wrote: ↑November 1, 2020, 8:07 amI'm helping a friend with his going through Key Visa, Process started on the 11th Sept:

I will contact Darren again tomorrow for an update.
BTW Mr. Dero, Darren quoted me the following, GBP 118.51 for 34 page, and GBP 128.51 for 50 page.

Re: Passport Renewal
Delays probably due to the pretty new colour
Re: Passport Renewal
Prices are correct as it is a courier service. On the credit card it shows as 5200 baht for the 50 page passport

Re: Passport Renewal
Have the funds been withdrawn from your credit card account? If not that should be ringing alarm bells.

Re: Passport Renewal
Due to a stupid arrangement that was recently set up on my credit card that I wasn't aware of and the company wouldn't change without a written request my only quick option was to pay the little extra and have Key Visa use their card....I would guess payment has been taken..Bandung_Dero wrote: ↑November 6, 2020, 7:03 amHave the funds been withdrawn from your credit card account? Darren quoted me 8 weeks a couple of days back so fingers crossed for next week.
Re: Passport Renewal
Has Darren checked his credit card?
Re: Passport Renewal
Didn't need to follow up any further with Darren, just received a mail from him saying my passport is in his office. I feel somewhat easier now. Happy days.
Re: Passport Renewal
Darren received my passport on 29th October and I have already had an email from VFS that my passport application is being dealt with now in England. Wow that was fast.
Re: Passport Renewal
8 weeks 1 day, new passport arrived in my Post Office box. Can recommend Darren and Key Visa.
Re: Passport Renewal
I submitted, by hand, my passport renewal application to the VFS Chiang Mai branch, and exactly 5 weeks later I have my new UK blue passport. Superb professional service, and no agents involved.
